**** y'all who read ****.

On a lighter note, my girly stacks her books neatly in a pile on her chest. Mine are side-by-side on the bookshelf. I prefer my way because it makes me look like a smart motherfucker who reads and **** like I accuse you motherfuckers of doing just now.

I have met Samuel L. Jackson; you sir are no Samuel L. Jackson.

I haven't met Javier Bardem; Even still, I would assume that you, sir, are no Javier Bardem.

Also, what was he like? Was he cool?

Never would've picked that color shoe for that fit, but I like them. That sweater looks better on this fit than some of the prior showings. Nicely done.

Cheers IC

I like how the relatively subdued cardigan and trousers make the shoes pop out.

NYR, out of curiosity, who takes your pics? Do you always go out with a tripod close at hand? Totally serious and I'm not trying to be funny at all.

Nope, the Mrs takes my pics with an iPhone...we work together and are generally side by side most of the time...

Cool look. I feel like this would flow better with some royal blue trousers and a casual boot. Maybe some cuffed selvege. Looks cool either way.

Thanks...

Missus likes your shoes.
I will steal the cardy.
also, between you never looking at the camera, and my death stare, I think we might average out to one normal human.
His children. He trains them well.

LOL @ the kids and the death stare..

I have stacked books before... If you actually need to use them frequently it becomes a pain **********. It's pretty, just not terribly functional.
Which I realize that you may not actually care about.

Did you see the link I posted? Don't want to start a huge debate but it is terribly functional and not like a stack, that's like saying if you have three books on the table it's hard to get the second one in the pile.

OK. Regardless of functionality, it looks cool. I'm not sure there's anything beyond that point that matters in this conversation.

If you really care, Petroski wrote a whole book on the historical development of the bookshelf..

And this is EXACTLY why I can't buy an e-reader. When you finish a book you can't mount on a shelf like the head of animal you have conquered. What good is reading if you can't use it to bully people's perception of yourself?

INcidentally, I've been meaning to comment on your avatar...nice GMTIIC. I picked one up not long after the ss version was released. It was quite a feat to find one back in 2008. They were selling before they came into the AD's back then. I travel a lot so I had an opportunity to check AD's in LA, SF, Chicago, NYC and my hometown of Boston. Believe it or not, I found one at an AD in Syracuse, NY! He said it had been sitting in the case for months and even offered me a 10% discount to sweeten the deal!! I would have paid 10% more than list...but didn't tell him that

You must not move around a lot. I used to think like this until I moved 4 times in 6 years. Books are the biggest pain ********** to lug around. Now I only keep books I'm sure I'll reread or refer back to for reference. I don't own an e-reader, but I have a library card.

True. But since I got out of college, I pay someone to move me...

Didn't Ruskin say something about if a book is worth reading it's worth buying?
