Haha, Peter pan was exactly what I was going for! [IMG]

Actually the pants aren't that tight, it was just the way I hang them up, they look more skinny from the front.

As for the boots, the heel is the same height as my normal brogues.

These pants are WAY to light. As someone else said, you look very feminine.

I think this would have be better with some dark denim or dark brown cords.
I like those boots -- who made them? Corcoran, by any chance?

I think it would be prudent to suspend judgment on the shade of the trousers given that a flash seems to be involved. If the fabric is at all reflective, then they will appear to be lighter than they are. Also, the apparent taper of the legs is exaggerated by the wide angle of the lens. Let's see what else JumpinHowie has to show us before we gang tackle him...

I love these things, You can beat the heck out of them and a quick spit shine brings them right back to a perfect shine.

Well I have to say I am not a big fan of being gang tackled, so how about another chance? This is what I changed into after church today. (If you want to see what I was wearing this morning you will need to go to the "HOF:..." thread.)
I tried another little experiment with this look with a vest, but I think I like it way better without it.

    Here is without the vest.

It looks like there's too much sweater for the cut of that jacket. Definitely better sans vest, and I would suggest no tie as well.

I can see what you're trying to do... As suggested above I would get rid of the sweater and the tie. Also the it seems to me the down vest should be longer sort of matching the jacket length. Finally, this is just personal preference, I think a more "technical" fabric (nylon, etc) for the vest and a darker color would look better.

    just my $ 0.02

I would ditch the vest. It never looks right to layer something over a jacket that (1) is shorter than the jacket and (2) does not have lapels. The vest look is very try-hard.

+1 to this ^. Never wear a vest like that over a jacket, it's completely incongruent. If its so cold you need that many layers then you need to rethink the whole outfit and consider a formal overcoat, trench coat etc. If its not that cold then what are you wearing it for as it's function isn't required and it adds nothing in terms of aesthetic appeal.

TSB had a post a while back where he was advocating that. Its not the first time I've seen someone emulating his style... I don't really get the look he was going for either though.

This just doesn't work- probably because none of the pieces work together to make it work. Every single item just seems wrong: like an Americana version of an Italian vision, that just can't work because Americana has a robustness that overwhelms the soft-lux that the Italian version needs to work.

That, and I don't like the shoes, either.
