    • I recently purchased a pair of shoes made out of 'waxy leather' (w/ dainite sole).

I will be using these in both snow and rain. Due to this, I imagine they will need some kind of regular care. However, I have no clue what product I should use, neither do I know how often to treat them.
Having googled this, I have encountered everything from 'do nothing at all to waxy leather' to 'buy this special soap/wax/creme'.
Related question: should I use some kind of water repellent on them before using them for the first time?

    Any help will be appreciated.
