And the Furriners are off to a strong early lead... We're in for an exciting Saturday night folks...

I regret I only have one vote to give for my country, and it went to the Furriners. Nothing, not even Anden's shirt collar could stop the one-two punch of Pingson and Roger both pulling off three-piece suits with lapels on the vest, while looking like they were not even trying hard. Plus bonus points to our Mexican friend Betelgeuse for a more casual but really interesting and well-executed mix.

If America does not win, I will blame a certain, prolific poster who shall remain nameless...but as our standard bearer only wore a merely Spoorific fit, as opposed to a Spootacular fit (again...no names) it may have made the difference for the good ol' USA. Props to Crusty for really going the extra mile with his new Paul Stuart suit.

So many great ensembles from both sides here.

However, to my eye, the truly exceptional fits were:

Team Furriners:
Holdfast, Timotune, Pingson, Hansderhund, Betelgeuse

Team Merrikuns:
SeaJen, AAS, Tirailleur1, SpooPoker.

Honourable mentions: DonC, Claghorn, Spandexter, Monkeyface, Cantabrigian, RoyCru, BlackUmbrella, Stitchy, Sugarbutch.

If I've left you out, it doesn't mean it was a poor effort. This is all so subjective after all.

Having said that, quite a few of the other gents' efforts were sabotaged by poorly-judged pents length. Tailoring fail should never be tolerated, no matter how expertly the rest of the rig has been assembled.

Based on the above, I am compelled to award my vote to Team Furriners by a camelhair's breadth.

Highlights for me included Timo and Pingson from team furriners and SeaJen (although a lighter coloured pant would have helped) and Spoo from team merikuns.

Stitchy - I really liked yours but the shoes ruin it for me. I know they are probably G&G but the last just doesn't do it for me. No hate.

I didn't help our cause, that's for sure. I swear the fit was good, but the crappy upper half selfie did it no justice. I am sorry my fellow Muricans, I have let you down. I fear those damn furriners have slaughtered us.
