Really sounds like we are never going to see a shell stichdown again so I have come to accept it.

I'd guess $1100 as its been the going rate for shell. They confirmed it'll be on the 2030 in their newsletter, didn't mention the toe, but i believe all of their shell makeups have been unstructured.

All this talk of natural shell.... and I'm over here with my natural CXL like... "sigh... where's the stitch down!?" [IMG]

That CXL looks mighty fine to me. Nice patina & depth!

Here's the photo from the mailing list, which I received a few minutes ago.

I like the boot a lot, but I don't entirely get on with the 2030 last, and I think it really elongates the foot in a bad way in my size. (I'm a US 14 / Viberg 13, so a bit of a corner case.)

If they offered the option of the 1035 or 2040 last as an alternative, I'd be after these. Unfortunately I'm going to have to pass.

It's a very clean look without the heel cap. very unViberg. I almost made this makeup in whiskey shell through C&J as a single MTO except with eyelets. Same price.

I really wish they would do unstructured toes for shells

The Viberg shell boots on stitch down were iconic. I don't get the point of paying for the GYW versions. They barely look like Vibergs.

What Aviv said. I have yet to see a service boot in GYW from viberg I would buy, it's a deal breaker for me before even looking at other details.

hate to pile on as given the construction quality is stellar and some of the best GYW finishing out there but i am a no go on the GYW shell also...I have the Mahogony shell in GYW and it is not something I love enough to get another pair of. I reach for my Alden Cigar shell Indy on commando over it.

Also a huge reason is that I do not require a more refined sleeker looking boot my dress code is 100% super casual. If I ever had to do a dressier casual look then I probably would reconsider the GYW bergs.

I think that is what appeals to me this time. My others are stichdown (which I love) and I pretty much exclusively wear them with denim. I am wanting something a little more dressier but not a dress boot. But despite my earlier desires I won't be available when they drop so unless they are still for sale at night I won't be getting this pair.

Speaking of Shell Cordovan Boots - anyone who bought the reverse shell have some good pics of how they have aged?

Brett just posted a photo of some waxed flesh Chelsea boots on his Instagram, have to say they look pretty sweet.

Not a big Chelsea fan but that got my attention.

I'll have to find them and check them out.

I'm not either honestly, but they look good.
Curious about who's going to be stocking them.

Here's a picture for anyone that wants to see the Waxed Flesh Chelsea and just in case he deletes the picture form his Instagram.
