We have 5 people going on custom Derby jackets right now, so it's a really good time to get started on a Derby! Just email us at info@thurston-bros.com, we'll tell you the cost for what you'd like, we'll get you a fit jacket if needed, and you'll be good to go!

That derby jacket looks very similar to the slim fit rider, what is the difference? I see a single piece back some gusset differences.... Also how much is it?

You're willing to send a fit jacket across international borders? What would be the cost? Just cover shipping both ways?

While we send Aero jackets internationally for fitting, unfortunately we can't send Vanson internationally...

Does that mean you won't be able to ship internationally this thread's jacket?

Thanks, that's what I thought too, but the post above is misleading. Maybe they won't ship a fit testing jacket internationally?

^ yup thats exactly what it is. They have given an idea on what the measurements will be on the revised sample. What would be nice is a guide on how they take their measurements. E.g. is length taken front the front or back and from what points? is the shoulder measured from the front or back? Is take pit across from seam to seam or do you lie the jacket completely flat in which case sometimes you measure just past the seams.

Yes...we ship Vanson products internationally, but Vanson fit jackets are, unfortunately, only available to customers in the Continental United States...

Length is always from the collar seam, down the back, to the bottom hem. Shoulder-to-shoulder is always shoulder seam to shoulder seam, across the upper back. Pit-to-pit is across the front of the jacket, underarm to underarm. All measurements are always with the jacket completely flat...

A lot of people on this thread are looking for a really tight, fitted horsehide jacket. Therefore, don't forget the new Aero Board Racer as a possible choice for this Fall! Here are the measurements in size 42...you can see the shoulder-to-shoulder is very small compared to the pit-to-pit...this keeps the jacket quite slim and nice.

You can learn more about the Aero Board Racer here:

    http://www.thurston-bros.com/#!aero-board-racer/c10e0

    Size 42

    Back length--26.5 inches
    Sleeve length--26.5 inches
    Pit-to-pit--21 inches
    Shoulder-to-shoulder--17.5 inches
    Front length--23.25 inches
    Waist circumference--40.5 inches

Look at that Lochcarron Minto Check Tweed Liner!

A lot of people choose to specify this jacket without the windflap....however, off-the-rack jackets do contain the windflap...

I don't see Vanson Derby on the website? Is it phone-order only?

It would be nice if there were measurements for all jackets on the website though.

You can view measurements on listings here (however, we don't have the Derby up because it's not in stock):

We'll try to get Derby jackets up soon!
