I am confused by the sole photo..is it just the angle or s something going on with them?

So you finally pulled the trigger!

    Glad they were still there.

You made the right choice - the finish on those is amazing!

Be sure to wear them with jeans and such - it's easy to go to the closet and pull out something more casual out of habit - but these will make the day (or night).

It's been about a year and half, I ordered them during a Bontoni Trunk Show in Seattle MTO. They are perfect for summer weather so they have been getting alot of play lately. I just ordered these pair about a year ago.

Yes. The waist of the sole appers to be overlapping the heel and the toe/ball of the sole appears to be overlapping the waist. Is it an optical illusion I am seeing?

    Thanks man!
Unfortunately I am not seeing it so maybe it's the angle of the pic. And thanks to everyone for the kind comments!!

First, let me be clear... the finish of the uppers of the Bontoni shoes I've seen in person is superb. (I think Onix would agree with me). The antiquing is very evenly done & looks excellent. Light plays very subtle tricks on the uppers that are very cool to say the least...

As good as any Berluti's I've seen.

However, the sole finish was not as nice as I had hoped. They looked like my daughter's coloring book from when she was 5. Generally inside the lines, but with a few overlaps & mistakes. Now that she's 7, Bontoni should hire her to do the sole finishing. It would be a major upgrade.

    Sloppy.

you have to be so, so careful with how you polish Bontoni's

much of that finish can rub off over time

Enjoy your Bontonis. I know mine are one of my top 2-3 most comfortable shoes and regularly take them with me on my travels when i know I will be walking a lot. Louis, the owner is a great guy and offers something truely unique in the marketplace.
