About thirty years ago, I worked with a guy, a Brit, in a place where we all had cubicles. This person was quite concerned to show people how clever he was and used his English vocabulary to good effect to accomplish that. Except that he was less and less effective at his job over time as people stopped working with him or looping him in on things. I happened to go with him to his cubicle one time and saw that he had hung, from a paperclip inserted in the fabric covering of the side of his cubicle, his Cambridge diploma. I realized then that he was a total nincompoop.

Spout2 is a troll. Not a very good one, but a troll nevertheless. He is blocked by quite a few people on this forum. I don't block him, but I probably should. He has nothing to contribute to this thread or any other, as far as I can tell. When he describes something he doesn't like as "cosplay", he intends it to be an insult. He gets upset or bothered by things he thinks are out of his concept of normal or contemporary. This morning I decided to engage him, which never usually goes well, but what the hell.

You're right, you don't have much credibility. You also don't appear to have much to contribute beyond a need to demonstrate some sort of (for lack of a better term) moral superiority. Some two hundred posts ago, I thought that you were also a troll. In fact, I called you a troll. Now I'm less sure, but you still haven't done much except carp from the sidelines. To satisfy my curiosity, are bluff northern particle physicists different than regular particle physicists? Was the key part their bluff northern-ness or that they were particle physicists? Could they have been just bluff northern people or was it important to the story to indicate that you hang out with particle physicists, who must be really, really smart?

    Bingo.

UC's suit is oatmeal flannel. I have trousers made up from the same cloth and I have posted pictures of them in use.

I don't like cream very much, but I do enjoy what I'd call oatmeal. The difference to me is that oatmeal has some heathering and a hint of silver/gray. Somewhere I posted pics of a pair of pents made of Drapers oatmeal flannel, back when people were getting the Fox oatmeal run.

Patrick R always improves the current status of whatever thread he posts in. Always. Great taste.

Thank you for your posts in general, but specifically those pics. Inspiring as I have those trousers and have probably looked at them with too limited an eye in terms of SC colors.

I'm a pimp, I'm a gangsta, I'm all of thee above. I'll try and post a pick of my oatmeal flannel pants and vest tomorrow.

Thank you, kind sir. Have I seen you wear them with a brown sport coat? How else have you worn them?

I know I wanted to see the fabric one last time, too many decisions.
