Thanks, V - I've enjoyed your recent interviews.

Yesterday, visited the Trickers factory, cathedral of country boots, and the Loake factory, built in 1894.

Today I'm going over to see the legendary Richard of Shoe Healer here in Doncaster, then up to Cumbria for an afternoon at Steed.

Let's do 8:30-9ish tomorrow evening then. Shall we meet somewhere near the Row or Jermyn St? Suggestions?

Right now patiently waiting for noon so I can order my first pint of the day. Looking forward to watching the Wimbledon final.

That final was unbelievable. Is the atmosphere in London electric?

I would suggest martinis at Duke's Hotel (off St. James's Street) - a little cliched because of the Ian Fleming association (off which they trade heavily), but really very good.

Can't make it I'm afraid (not that I am a regular here).

Does that mean they make a mean Vesper Martini? :)

Looking forward to hearing what you think of all the places you plan to go. I hope you have/had a great time.

I watched in a pub while drinking London Pride. I'm glad I was here for it. About as grueling and stressful a straight sets win as I've ever seen.

Thanks for the suggestion, Balfour. I'll be drinking martinis at Duke's starting at 8:30. I'll be wearing a peak lapel SC in oats linen. Look forward to meeting anyone who would like to join me.

Might be worth speaking to them in advance - they get quite busy, even on Monday I suspect with the summer crowd. The Lanesborough up the road on Hyde Park Corner is an acceptable alternative, and space would not be a issue there.

Gents, lets just risk it at Duke's. If its too crowded we can head over somewhere else at 9:30 or so - I'll update this thread if we move.

Well, I'll get myself later-on to have some liquid refreshment at the Dukes.

Whether I can suffer a jacket, has to be seen. It's a scorcher of a day in London-town (probably the hottest day of the year).

For non-Brits wondering what this means...my phone says currently 77 degrees in London. Looking forward to seeing you, Bengal.

We're reaching 100ºF here today and I'm wearing a jacket, so 77 is no excuse! [IMG]
    Have a good time, folks.

Today I went to Huntsman and Budd. Next time I'm back in London going to bring my evening waistcoat so I can get a bespoke silk evening shirt from Budd. It's a great shop - I highly recommend a visit there to anyone in London to say hello to Mr. Rowley and see all the goodies.

I might be able to make it today, but it depends entirely on whether more work will show up on my desk in the coming hour or so.

Sorry I missed it - got stuck at work right as I was hoping to leave.

What else is on the itinerary?
