What's up with these two neckties worn by the agents on either side of Dominique Strauss-Kahn? Hideous...

Cop salaries [IMG] The one one the right is almost certainly a Stafford, small chance its a Pierre Cardin. The one on the left looks J Garcia, funny being worn by a cop. It might be an Cocktails Collection, or a Jimmy Z, all known for similar levels of heinous patterns. Love the look on the Khan's face... ha ha

According to the NYPost 8,009 cops make six figures and 30 make over 200k... they could at least use our tax money to buy tasteful ties.

If anyone has seen The Wire, you know why cops wear cheap ties.

Not enough of them know about SF?

My bro in law is a bomb squad cop and he wears Stacy Adams square toes and some of the worst Kenneth Cole ties imaginable.

Size 14 SA's btw, just to give you a mental pic.

They spend their off time on other kinds of forums.

    No.

When you fall asleep at the station, you get your tie cut off!

Because they get grabbed and pulled by those resisting arrest. Hell, I'm surprised they're real ties, most beat cops wear the ones that have the velcro in the back or clip ons for that precise reason.

Men's Wearhouse must give cops a discount.

You really think the special victims unit detectives have to worry about mid arrest tie strangulation?

That's because you have low standards.

I agree, it's far from ugly, but in the opposite direction from what you suggested. As in:
