    The site's acting a little Manton-y...

Well, are you going to lodge 15 consecutive complaints about it or just sit there and do nothing?!

I prefer to think of it as Mantonian.

Nice to see the CE news aggregator is still functioning well... my point with that original comment is that this is a discussion forum. I know it's natural to want to share something we've read, but I'm not sure this is the place for it. I don't think a new article should be posted unless the OP has something he (or one of the three shes) wants to add.

stukovx was banned, which I frankly don't have a problem with. However I paid him $165 to ship a pair of boots and the thread has disappeared. Does this mean start a claim right away? Just looking for opinions.

No connection. Thread or no, SF would not be the enforcer of your agreement, nor the forum for any claim. If you don't receive timely confirmation of shipping and/or your boots, I'd suggest following the usual approach: (1) try communicating with the seller, remembering that you're dealing with an individual and not a corporation with a customer service staff; (2) after exhausting #1, pursue whatever remedies are available through ebay/paypay/your cc company/whatever. Hope it works out well.

So to skirt the rule on posting a link without a summary, are people allowed to post quotes from the article without the required summary?

This link/summary rule is making the whole forum a den of tattle-tales and snitches. As Carmelo Anthony would say, "Don't be a snitch." Snitches get stitches.

Yeah I don't personally care about that rule. I plan to only use it as an excuse to suppress threads I disagree with.

yeah, his motif of two-worded capitalized titles is a little obvious.
