Anyone know if Angelo has any plans to open another restaurant? He sold the space of his former place, Xie Xie, before I had a chance to try it, and now he's got his own consulting group. He's one of the guys whose food I most want to try, so it'd be great to see him open another place.

wow did not see that one coming...jen did seem a little off her game this season but i thought it'd only be a matter of time before she was back to her winning ways.

I don't see why not, the masters do it. Any lost revenue would be made up in future exposure.

That episode sucked. I don't care about people eating out of dixie cups.

Wow, talk about going out on your sword. It was both admirable and foolhardy for Jen to violate the #1 rule of reality show competitions: Don't talk back to the judges. It was like watching a real life version of an SF member picking a fight with the mods, getting banned, and then crying about the unfairness of it all afterward. Was Jen one of the favorites to win the competition?

And yes, Casey is super cute. She seemed to get as much interview/air time as the rest of the contestants combined. There are more straight males watching the show than I would have thought.

Angelo has brought his cockiness from last season but is backing it up.

Jen definitely dove in front of the bus on that one. And yes, every post I make in this thread will have some variation of me saying Casey is amazing.

Casey is amazing.

Even Casey said Jen's dish wasn't good. According to Colicchio, Jen did herself in -- not when she argued with the judges but -- when she took rsponsibility and said the dish wouldn't have been any different if jamie had been there. That took Jamie off the hook (or so Colicchio says). It probably also made it easier than deciding between the two on the team that made the undercooked eggs. In any case, I always find it fascinating when internet foodies make a judgement about food they cannot taste!

Yes, it is much more normal to spend time arguing about food game shows on the internet.

Jenn seemed to be PMS'ing pretty bad. Just the way she acted the entire episode was odd.

Both weeks, the people eliminated had some strange chip on their shoulder. From Elia not wanting to view the hidden camera footage to an overactive Jenn who got really defensive. Odd stuff.

Some of us on the West Coast had not yet seen the episode when you made your comment. Maybe we could have some sort of unwritten rule that East Coast fans will not spoil it for the rest of us until the show has aired here, first? Or, in lieu of that, maybe you could start your post by stating: "Spoiler Alert!"

I thought Jen was one of the better chefs and knowing she was getting axed took some of the enjoyment out of it. Maybe I should have avoided the thread altogether until after I had seen it, but I didn't.

Anyway, I think the best three are Richard Blais, Angelo Sosa, and Dale Levitski. Casey Thompson, if she has one of her hot streaks (and I don't mean her looks), as she did in Season 3 towards the end (minus the finale) then she could be in there, too, and for the sake of straight males everywhere let's hope she does make it.

I think lack of sleep may have been part of it for Jen.

The rule isn't really don't talk back - the rule is don't defend your food when they have problems with it - they aren't going to change their minds about it and it just makes you seem clueless. See it every season.

Notice how a lot of them were like "well, yeah, I wasn't super-happy with how it turned out..." But they never are the first to point out the flaw since they have no idea why the judges are unhappy, they just know that they are.

I sort of wonder if the producers are egging on the contestants more and more, after the emotional train wreck of Just Desserts.

Angelo is my guy though. Seems like a solid, nice guy and his food always looks good.

Marcel is so petty. Pretty funny he hasn't really grown as a person.
