it could be that the other libertine partners are acting in good faith, but at this point i would be disinclined to believe anything anyone tells me on that front. Their goal is presumably to protect the restaurant's good name while the sale goes through: an obvious stratagem would be to remove drew from the kitchen, hire an interim chef (its a glorified burger joint, after all), issue a statement saying ties have been severed, while drew lies on a beach in thailand for a couple of months til things blow over. major corporations do this kind of thing all the time.
as said above, would/could they really buy out his partnership share?

He should have just sold the brand / patterns before this all went to shit
Presumably the patterns are still worth something

I wonder if his share of the partnership of libertine even covers much of the outstanding orders

They aren't assumptions -- it's called healthy skepticism after learning that just about everything we were told about ToJ isn't true.

I feel like a dupe, and I hate feeling that way. I'm sure you do too.

    Thanks for providing further details.

For what it's worth, Mr. Keith is not a chef at the Libertine. Much in the same way he ran ToJ- he designed the products (burger or jacket) and had others (with actual experience) assemble them.

Mr. Keith. has little to no- I repeat, NO formal Kitchen experience. He reads many cookbooks and has a sous-vide cooker at home. It's likely that he talked himself up and managed to get others to buy into his restaurant vision. For better or worse, the writing is on the wall now and everyone can see what a massive bullshit artist Mr. Keith truly is.

I'm sorry for lashing out. I think we're both frustrated for being duped.

This actually reminds me of something I remember Drew telling me years back.

I forget the context but he told me "don't bullshit me, I'm the master of all bullshitters"

I'm living in Melbourne now but I do not personally have stakes in this. I could check out the address if it's close and I can tell you if it's a business or personal address.

On reflection, I should have left you out of it. In the heat of the moment -- and on the web -- it's easy to post first and think later.

I don't believe that the reviews shut be removed from the restaurant site. That restaurant was built in part with funds meant for ToJ orders.

Also, who can confirm what was posted was legit? Who can confirm that Drew was fired vs told to stay away until this dies down and the restaurant is sold and is still receiving a salary? A salary derived from ToJ unfilled orders.

Give Drew 2 weeks to address it? Transparency? People have waited 2 years. I just shake my head when I read things like that. So if Drew speaks to Fok and asks for posting rights on SF and comes back and apologizes and says that production has re-started and everyone will get their jackets asap, people should rejoice? People will believe him?

The pressure hit the fan in the last day+. It took well over a year to get to this point. Don't now just say...."Ok...Drew isn't with the restaurant anymore, let's take back one of the points that got us here."

I also feel that if 1(or more) SF members are going to be the point person(s) with outside legal/news/govt contacts, they should be speaking with respect to what/how the collective would like to proceed.

There is no point(IMO) in having a SF point person liaise with a 3rd party, push the issue forward, and then come back on SF and post the update for the majority to yell and scream....."We didn't want that!"

No use in having a potential news story written/legal options pursued/etc if it isn't what the collective wants.
