Someone should contact MOON LEATHER too... one of the manufacturers for TOJ jackets, located in Seoul.

Interesting, thanks. I was more thinking about a path out of this for D, i.e. what if he started a new SF account and posted the above offer, and then followed through with daily or twice-daily production updates. Wonder if that might be the optimal solution for all involved. Surely it would take a long while to recover any funds via litigation even in the best case.

Yes, absolutely. A paper trail can only help you if they start looking at this as a bigger, collective case.

Only speaking for myself, but I for one am definitely more interested in working with Drew rather than against him to resolve this. I have no interest in defaming him online, contacting lawyers, etc. I don't know what can be done at this point since I don't know what's going on. But certainly -- Drew, if you're reading this -- I would much rather figure out how we can resolve all these issues. Even if it has to take a while.

This time around, however, I would want very clear transparency, like with his suppliers or something. I don't trust what he says on face value anymore, but I hope he understand that's because of what's happened. Doesn't mean we can't work together to figure this out, however.

Drew, if you're reading this, you can email me at dieworkwear at gmail. Again, would much rather work with you on this.

Your optimism is great, but your potential routes out of this for Drew assume the guy isn't a complete lowlife. I mean today, people were drafting up "pitch in $15 and send one of our own in" rescue plans, at no cost to the guy, until Charly came in and woke us up.

If what whoever at Libertine said is accurate, I just picture the guy is somewhere snickering to himself like the Hamburglar right now.

I don't think anyone who has driven his business into the ground and been removed from his other large business venture is snickering to himself right now.

Dude is probably terrified and panicking right now and is likely in way over his head.

Along DW's lines, I think it might be time to take down those one-star reviews on the Libertine FB page, for whoever posted them. Assuming that message about Drew going into hiding is legit, they have been nothing but reasonable and polite about the situation.

So this might be the final chapter. Possibly the scoundrel may have fled, disconnected his phone etc, ToJ was an unrecoverable mess basically, and the restaurant partners wanted no part of it.

Who knows, the FBI or IRS may want to have words if he ever set foot on US soil again.

    The Scorpion and the Frog

A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the
scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The
frog asks, "How do I know you won't sting me?" The scorpion
says, "Because if I do, I will die too."

The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream,
the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of
paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown,
but has just enough time to gasp "Why?"

Replies the scorpion: "Its my nature..."

I can't believe people are still optimistic about a possibility of working this out with Drew amicably. I could be wrong but the impression and feeling i'm getting is dude is gone, and so is the money (not necessarily that he took it and ran, but instead there's no money left.)

People should add the money they are owed next to their names, like so:

    46 apple ($780)
    47 barramundi ($850)
    48 pear ($3,300)

    etc. etc.

posted this (below) recently... basically threatened to divulge personal info as well as intentionally delay orders of those who complained. (btw… impolyt_one is Drew Keith's screen name here on SF)
