    don't get all uptight, guys

some people (not limited to just asians) just don't have the face or physique for the style they're going for imo, that's all i'm saying

as in, there's another look they could be going for that flatters their features better

you have to distinguish between the things you admire and the things you can actually rock

its not so much that they're asian, more that they are chubby twenty something dorks who probably work in IT or finance and have the haircut, facial expression, and chubby cheeks to match

If you want to look cool in a leather jacket, you obviously need to take up smoking for starters just like your great leader

I think what he means is, certain pieces like double riders, have a strong connection to life styles/subcultures, and within those subcultures, people look a certain way.
Bikers = Big, tough looking guys most likely with a beard.
Rock stars = Anorexic, tatted, pierced, sucked up face, pretty young guy. SLP pretty much
They don't wear the jackets like the people who gave the jackets their vibe, the jackets wear them, and for that reason he finds that they look off in it.

Styles and subcultures are incredibly fluid and it's a constant flow of reappropriation. That being said, skeen7908 has it right, I think. A lot of the pictures on the TOJ gallery and on here are so clearly of young IT nerds or young college people who don't have anything resembling a personal style or presence. Or, worse, are out of shape. And their carriage reflects that. So obviously no TOJ--which is clearly designed to look good on slim people who carry themselves well (without necessarily having to be a model or biker)--is going to make them look like "le dashing gent." Or whatever.

Oh okay. Does anybody know if those are actual shipping boxes or just storage? Not sure if there is just one jacket per box or a stack of them...

also, to address this specifically, i didn't say anything like that

    you're completely straw man-ing what i said

but unlike others, i actually have no problem posting a pic of myself if you care that much

come to think of it, i'd actually like to read what others have to say since i personally do think that i wouldn't look dorky in a rider (but i'm also really deluded about things at times so who knows)

it's not that encompassing (i'm interpreting what you said as extending into careers and stuff; if that's not what you meant then sorry)

it's just that i think you should work with and highlight what you've been physically given when it comes to fashunz
