MDR in navy lamb or black lamb with gold zip? I have a whiskey moto, grey bball, and brown goat A2. Any suggestions to fill another niche in my closet?

I hope noone miscontrued what I discussed in my review. The jacket is great, the fit is spot on the way I want it, and Charly has been very helpful and accommodating the sizing help. The leather quality is excellent as always, and I was more or less discussing how the characteristics of it are different when compared to the navy calf and also the black lamb which many are familiar with. Different, does not be inferior.

In terms of an objective comparison in terms of construction, I appreciate Drew's comments on certain parts of the jacket which make plenty of sense such as the lapels and belts etc. There are parts of the jacket that when compared to the MDR are constructed differently, with more exposed edges such as where the lapel connects with them hem. I am only making this comparison on a like for like basis between TOJ pieces.

There is no question that TOJ has consistently improved and grown - i have the luxury of being around since the old TOJ0 varsity days and seen the evolution. Would I highly recommend the jackets despite this? Of course the answer is yes.

    Good luck all.

^ 11 weeks for a leather sounds promising. maybe due to the increased production

also, 11 weeks into the wool MA-1, maybe next week!

I think it's in your right to question the cut edges and correlate that to being a quality issue. I think your intentions were pure, but a quick email to Charly would have probably answered that question.

You might not know it based on the way I have been ordering the past few weeks, easily dropped close to $4000 but I've had two issues with TOJ since I became a customer. One of the issues was the very first jacket I ordered. I won't mention the issues since it's not really relevant but...

Instead of taking the issue to the forums, I reached out to TOJ directly and had the issue resolve to my satisfaction. I'm a firm believer that when a customer issue arises, if resolved correctly by the company you will actually gain loyalty more so than your average customer. On the other hand, if you don't resolve it correctly you will lose them forever.

If and when I don't get a satisfactory resolution, then and only then would I take up the issue on public message boards.

Now to Drew's point, he understands that cutting corners is impossible without customers noticing. There's many Asian restaurants in Toronto that fail because they have great price points and great food, but over time they start to skimp out on quality, ingredients, while jacking the price up at the same time. Customers notice this and those restaurants tend to not last very long after that. I don't even give them the luxury of pointing these mistakes out.

I had a dream last night that ToJ closed its doors while I was asleep. I woke up and impulsively placed another order.

Also, if for a certain jacket model that you have questions about, I have found that reaching out to individual customers on SF has given me very insightful, detailed information from a consumer standpoint. If someone has posted a photo of the model you're interested in, on the gallery with similar specs you have in mind, try to private message them with the username usually given on the top of the page; not everyone who has ever purchased something from TOJ stays up to date with what is said here. I've had someone very kind, give various photos of the same jacket they only posted one picture of on the gallery, and answered other questions I had in mind.

Bows, did you throw on any suede protectant on your bag yet? I'm sure it got a little wet today from the rain, how did it hold up?
