^^ That is pathetic. It makes me ashamed for humanity a little bit.

What's even the point of doing that? It's not like they'll get to the destination any faster. I guess they just can't wait to sit in those comfy airplane seats.

Betimes I hear people at my workspace be like "Aww man I am so overwhelmed of work to where I can't even keep up anymore!" But then they go home at 5 and chill. Why don't people just continue working for another hour or two, to where they are caught up and no longer overwhelmed? (I am talking about people like me who are paid a celery.)

That's what I don't get though. We're not paid by the hour. As I see it, we're paid to do the work that has to be done. Since there's no one else who can do that person's work, and because it has to be done at some point anyway, why not just do it and get rid of the feeling of being overwhelmed?

Because the person wouldn't be able to continue to kvetch about how overwhelmed they were any longer.

The give away was the huge ass suitcases. Those are empty outbound, often stuffed one into another like Russian dolls, and filled with swag on the way back. The swag is distributed to family and friends so people can pretend they're ballers.

    Crazy how insecure people are.

I use to think it was a young thing, but as I am getting older I see it more, and more from people of all ages. Hard to avoid all those people.

I vote it's a cultural thing just like the tribes that used to live in British Columbia and Washington that had the potlatch tradition.

I know a lot of people who do that, when they go to the US, the worst part is that 99% of them shop at outlet malls.

My aunt and her family is going to Turkey in a couple of weeks and they are brining cheese, table fans, pate etc., because they don't want to pay $10 a week for air con and they don't like the food.

I don't say swear words a whole lot in real life, but I do when I don't have all my wits to me. This morning I woke up really early didn't know what time it was. I checked the time on my cell phone and then said in my own mind "Fuck that I am not getting up at this hour time to crest my roll (go back to sleep)."

I think it it is either a) truly 1st time flying and they don't know how things work - worried someone will get their seat; b) vestige mentality from the time they had to flee homeland (think US embassy downfall of Saigon) or just general chaotic nature of air travel in their homeland; or c) worried overheads will fill up and there won't be room for all the sh!t they're carrying on

    flight was Jacksonville to LGA

a wheelchair was employed here in an attempt to gain a preferential boarding status, but it was clearly not premeditated. The lady observed the wheelchair folks boarding first, and then saw an empty one and acted on an inspired impulse....
