I don't get why everyone else doesn't use Amazon Basics batteries...

oh wait, everybody does want to use them...

I don't get why Amazon Basics batteries are out of stock all the time.

i'm never in a situation where "in a few days I'll want some batteries". I always need them immediately and don't want to buy other shit to get to the $25 free shipping from Amazon (no Prime for reasons discussed in the pissing you off thread regarding shipping hassles)

There are a few reasons, though. Like when hurricane season starts down south. And the impending zombie apocalypse

My 12 gauge is not battery powered. What else would I need them for?

How did people deal with awkward situations before smartphones became so prevalent?

I didn't know these existed. I'll definitely give them a try.

It is clear to me that you do not have a child. AA (and preferably AAA, as well) batteries are something I must always have on hand.

    Lies!

What do you do when you're at a restaurant with someone and that person momentarily leaves to go to the bathroom or something, thus leaving you all to yourself for a couple minutes?

I'll bet a million bucks you whip out your smartphone!

People who don't use real alarm clocks. My buddy is going to be an hour late to work today because he updated ios and the new alarm clock wasn't loud enough (either it changed the alarm tone or the volume was reset to something lower...don't know)

Sure, my phone has a perfectly good alarm, and it is super handy compared to trusting a hotel clock when travelling...but my alarm clock doesn't get software updates (or have other apps that can crash or drain the battery) and it is always by my bedside. In fact, it has been waking me up reliably since 2005.

I've lived most of my life in a world in which computers , mobile phones and the Internet did not even exist . We managed to be just as miserable then as we are now . Hard to believe ain't it

Why is Cracklin' Oat Bran so expensive? The box is smaller than the normal cereal box, but it would be expensive even for a normal sized box. (I have fond memories of Cracklin' Oat Bran from the time of my youth, so I am inclined to buy it.)
