People who automatically request a read receipt with every email they send. Seriously, you don't need confirmation I've received every little message you feel compelled to shoot my way.

People who do this automatically go on my "watch out" list. They strike me a neurotic, and trying to accumulate ammo for something in the future. These tend to be the same people who cc your boss and their boss with every email. Assholes.

I like to cc email addresses that the recipient doesn't recognize, just to keep him honest. He thinks "oh my, I'm being supervised by people I haven't even met. This must be important."

i've played with the idea of taking the emails of people who I know use read receipts, and signing them up for as many mailing lists as possible. Must wait until they're on vacation for it to really have the intended impact.

I have a stock of e-mail addresses that belong to me. Also, I often cc people from the forum, such as Neo, Bhowie, and mensimageconsultant.

This probably deserves its own thread, but I have been wondering for a long time now - how are you supposed to use those plastic splash guards in the urinals? It seems like however I direct my flow, it iNCREASES the splashing

I don't get why so many things you see in movies and on TV that are supposed to indicate romance are actually irritating or horrible things. Sharing an umbrella is most irritating, sex on the beach just gets sand in no-no spots, feeding each other is infantile, etc.

People who wear faddish clothes when they are completely inappropriate. I guess knit caps are trendy with teenagers right now, because I've seen about four teenage kids wearing them in 95 degree heat in the last week.

Unless there's a good reason the sender needs to know I've received the message, this is my standard approach. Still, it annoys me that I have to click a box every single time those particular people send me an email.

Yes, there is definitely a personality type that tends to engage in the practice.

I accidentally did that a few years ago on an email to my boss' boss. A week later my boss pulled me aside and asked me to kindly never fucking do that again. She wasn't copied on the email so her boss must have said something.

Totally mea culpa. It's fucking annoying

I do not get people that randomly Capitalize things. What is up with People that do this? Do they think randomly assigning things to the category of Proper Nouns is the Correct Thing to do?

^it's a corporate thing. Suckups capitalize their project or their boss's bullshit buzzwords to show that they are ascribing the Proper Importance to such a weighty and revolutionary Strategic Thought
