And my god aren't I glad we don't allow anyone under 21 to drink in this country because it keeps our rates of alcohol abuse and binge drinking so much lower than o say... Europe.

Farmers markets here. It isn't the market themselves, more the people they attract.

Hipsters.
Hordes of filthy, disgusting small children.
Lesbians of all varieties.
Yuppies.
"Foodies".
People who believe their own bullshit.

And the vendors....I mean, yeah its great to get some good stuff for a small premium but ****... Could you guys suck at life any more?

- Lesbians are my peeps.
- In standard American usage, periods go inside quotation marks.
- As a Zizekian, I don't think ironic detachment from your own bullshit is superior to actually believing your own bullshit.

Otherwise, I have no beef with this post.

The "whole-washing".

Most items at WF have sugar in them that is labeled "organic evaporated cane juice".

Everyone is up in arms about the industry push to relabel high fructose corn syrup as "corn sugar", but it's not any less deceptive than what the "whole" and "organic" producers are doing with "cane juice".

Recently a houseguest brought home some "honey sweetened granola" from Trader Joes and when I looked at he ingredient list, it was Oats, Sugar, ...., Honey. They added some honey somewhere down the list, but it was sugared up all the way.
