Two months of dreading a presentation I had to give, in japanese, to a potentially huge new client ended today. I totally nailed the presentation and we closed the deal. Yes!

My boss just told us not to plan on working late tonight, or at all on Saturday! This is a huge upgrade from the "plan on working every evening this week, plus Saturday" we were given on Tuesday.

"Dude" is, perhaps sadly, common in my house. If MrsG got upset about me calling her that, I'd probably have to stop talking altogether!

Also, my plan for getting older is to be so insane that people aren't sure if I'm senile or not.

    Good job!

Today is Ace Frehley's birthday. In olden times, this was a very big deal in my circle of friends. Of course it's not anymore, but it has put me in mind of pleasant childhood memories. I hardly ever think about my childhood, but it's not the worst thing in the world to reminisce once in a while.

I escorted a boss around HK looking for a good tailor - I made the mistake of taking him with me to my Chan fitting, and his eyes bugged out of his head when he realized how much I was paying for a HK suit. He wound up with one of those guys in an ill-fitting suit who spits when he talks to you.

On the other hand, I learned about my boss' blackjack addiction and secret bank account.

This apparently was my mother's plan all along. It worked, until she grew senile enough that we finally noticed.

Got mad props for my first customer presentation in the new job. Not a closed deal yet, by a long stretch, but I moved the ball enough for another first down, despite the fact that the account executive did pretty much everything he could to set me up for failure by ignoring our clearly defined engagement model.
