There's a little Mexican restaurant not too far from my house that we visit every couple weeks or so. It's ultra authentic, and I'm not exaggerating when I say we're the only white people who ever go there. The waitress always remembers us, and my wife confirmed with a friend whose Mexican husband eats there that gringos don't generally eat there.

Before we went in tonight, we told my son that he can speak Spanish there and they'll understand him (he's bilingual). He said a few words to the waitress, who thought it was cute and started kind of quizzing him to see if he really got it. He kept up like he was speaking his native tongue, and the waitress was so impressed that she got the owner, who was also highly impressed and gave my son a free ice cream to commend him.

I'm proud of him for being so sharp and not being afraid to speak a second language to strangers, and I'm feeling like a pretty damn fine daddy right about now.

    Little G = Whisp!

    :fistbump:

I blame Canada for me not being bilingual. Bill 101 was a big deal when I was a youngster. I think speaking more than one language is awesome and it's one of my big failings I'm not.

Cannot wait to see what I get back. Last year I got back about double what I figured and that sort of rocked. Still don't even have all my documentation yet. :(

I expect to owe a good chunk of change in capital gains tax. But I did get a signing bonus that was heavily taxed, so maybe that might offset it.

It does indeed and 15% will be the rate for the CGT I'll be paying for 2014 ;)

Aww FUCK! Just did some more research... I did not know I had to pay state taxes on my cap gains as well. Fuck you MA! Ugh.

    :fu:

Yeah I'm definitely owing money this year.
