Gonna put new spark plugs in my car tomorrow. I kind of want to change the transmission fluid too but that seems beyond my abilities.

Okay, I'm going to stop you from making a common noob mistake. Take off one spark wire, replace that plug, re-attach the wire. So many noobs take off all the wire, take out all the plugs, put in the new ones...then realize they just fucked up.

I was just going to say the same thing (spark plugs) don't make that mistake of which so many noobs have made in times past. Just don't do it, you know?

I shan't make that noob mistake. Another one, according to the vids I've seen, is not lubricating the new plugs before putting them in.

Good on ya, and, yeah, don't bother with the transmission if you don't know what you're doing. Fluid changes can be a surprisingly big PITA.

Also, take Piob's advice on the plug wires.

I'm fixin' to leave my office and drive home (spark plugs are fine do not need to put new ones in before departure). Once I arrive at my destination (home) I will commence to doing more interesting things.

I'm surprised I received no charges of "pleb" as I have this knowledge on plebeian things.

Good on ya' Conne. Changing the plugs on a Geo Metro is surprisingly easy, as is a transmission fluid change. And no need to get the double platinum expensive plugs, copper will work just fine for that model.

Lubricating them means putting a tiny bit of anti seize on the threads. Don't go overboard.

Yeah, i mean it's pretty common in Academia. Unfortunately with the popularity of a certain marvel series in film right now a lot more people have been "discovering" my field, and take advantage of it trying to ask me more questions. Doesn't help that there's a hokey ass religion set up around it.

I'm going to start doing that.
