Will use the bottom 1/4 of my screen for soccer at 1. Maybe full screen depending on how much I accomplish in the next 90 minutes.

They have a TV set up in our lunch room and have put out red, white, and blue tablecloths.

    Snacks have been promised.

The governor gave all state employees an extra hour of lunch to watch the game. I went home, ate, and watched. :slayer:

How that guy keeps his head up and gets out of bed everyday, is pretty damn impressive.

Its weird...you're certainly not the first person I have heard make a similar argument today (not in jest). Things like "This is why americans can never get into soccer..."

Have they never heard of a round robin tournament before? It happens all of the time that the result of the final game doesn't really matter.

Even good old 'Murican football has lots of matches that don't matter. Plenty of teams can lose their last regular season game and still make the playoffs.

I would like to see the alternate universe where the USMNT lost, drew, and then won. People would be all cheers.

Portugal did that. Doubt that they are happier for it.

It is really stupid. It's like, if things are just a little bit different than what I'm used to, then I automatically can't be bothered. We're the country that came up with the BCS to determine the winner of one of our most popular sporting leagues, so we have no right to tell anyone else that their scoring system is stupid

The BCS was one of the more complex statistical models in existence... to be fair.

I just saw this on a Yelp review:

My wife got the hummus plate, which was amazing! Lots of great sliced pita bread and veggie slices. She didn't know that it included salad with dressing. She didn't like that the dressing touched he salad #EdinaProblems. She gave me a few slices of pita and hummus. The hummus was 10 Star!

Fuck you, Edina, for ruining this woman's salad!
