Don't say 'betimes'!-- only stupid actors say 'betimes', or 'beshrew me'! [IMG]

Even if I violently disagreed with his comments on capris -- personally, I don't care -- and agreed with your prior descriptions up to and including 'closed-minded', there is absolutely nothing in what you quoted to suggest that he's a homophobe in the common sense. He might, at most, be guilty of a particular species of misandry that slights those men who adopt typically feminine comportments, like capri pants. However, unless you yourself are making the tacit assertion that only gay men wear capris, and we all accept it, your comment is totally unjustified. Maybe he is a homophobe -- again, I don't know or care -- and maybe he's posted opinions of that sort elsewhere, but you haven't shown it yet. I may care about little else, but poor form ad hominem is one thing that annoys me.

Same. Had a great week off and came back to a pile of turds. I was "volunteered" for this workgroup that will be looking to improve one of our most inane bureaucratic processes. I don't need a crystal ball to know the outcome: everything will get even worse once the "enhancements" are implemented.

False. Suggesting that men who wear clothing or affect mannerisms the speaker deems effeminate are thus "not men" can quite reasonably be interpreted as evidence of homophobia. Not conclusive evidence, of course, but enough so that your reaction to the comments pointing that out is entirely misplaced.
Plus what MrG pointed out, of course. I don't know 38R, so I'm expressing no opinion as to his actual views.

Also, as a rebuttal to his flippant assertion that real men don't wear short shorts:

Yes, what can I do for you?*

Plus a wonderful action photo of Linc triumphantly engaging in the traditional "last Dance" that signals the end of all successfully organized academic conferences (the unsuccessful ones end in hair pulling and face scratching). You really have to be bold to select capri pants for this, but as we all know, Linc has the philosopher stones to pull it off.

I take your initial comment at face value.
Burn it with fire really isn't an insightful opinion, nor is it anything of any real relevance. It doesn't particularly bother me though. I really fail each and every time to be worked up by somebody over the internet.

As for the homophobia comment(s), I think some are getting a bit mixed up. kindofyoung called you homophobic. I fail to see anything you said / done as of homophobic intent.

Mentioning One Direction is weak. I don't particularly dress like any member of 1D, nor am I a fan of their shit.

Who's gay though? I don't understand. Who are you supposedly insulting about being homosexual?

You're correct with your introduction to your comment.

But as for 'looking ridiculous', I did not see anyone who looked ridiculous on that page mentioned. Nor did I look ridiculous.

Again, sexual orientation? I think you are chasing your tail slightly like others..

I suspect this is the norm for beer salesmen. I would also suspect that most beer salesmen are cool dudes.
