I don't mind house parties every now and then. Depends on who's attending. If it's a bunch of insufferable morons...no thanks.

Well, I suspect this party is going to be filled with a bunch of plebs.

    Ugh. Waste of time then.

I used to go to parties in college with a bottle of bourbon/scotch and sometimes even a tumbler.

The whole reason this girl is having the get together at her place is because she can't afford to go anywhere. I'm serious. Now I have to go to fucking Bushwick for a slum party.

These people are in charge of interpreting your health and they can't even guesstimate how much a pair of shoes weigh? Something is very, very wrong here .

    Ew.

Astoria is slimy and grimy but friends who have moved there are all about their 'hood.

She probably thinks you're whacking it with thoughts of her in your head.

let me guess? Jefferson Stop? if so might as well eat Mexican Food at Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos. its that mexican food joint inside a tortilla factory. the food is weirdly cheap, but delicious, and if you go earlier there is a killer thrift store (that movie/tv shows use for props - like 50's era neon signs and legit kitsch art stuff) next door.

I don't think Astoria is slimey and grimy, but I do think there is just not a lot there I am particularly fond of in terms of establishments. I think 50% of people who live and love Astoria just hype it up because in their hearts they know they can't afford cool parts of Brooklyn.

    Yes.

I'm not sure actually. My girlfriend knows more about where it is than I do. I think she moved recently actually, but she did live by the JMZ or something. I will most likely be live tweeting my complaints about the party so stay tuned.

Half of the NYC thread is pbooth & manton complaining that it's warm weather and therefore too warm to wear suits. I'm sticking with pretentious.

Speaking of which, it is too fucking humid out to wear my raincoat. Shouldn't have brought it to work.

What a twaty thing to do. Tumblers don't even provide any benefits over those red plastic cups beyond feeling and looking good. It's not like you smuggled a Glencairn in your pocket also.
