But with more raw denim talk and Alden 405 sizing questions.

It's been said often but sw&d has enormously changed since 2009 or so. Just have a look through the old waywt thread, it's pretty striking. Most of the regular posters from then are long gone, Fuuma was there, Jet was there obviously, I think Willy was there also. Boat shoes backlash/DBs consecration had yet to happen, Band of Outsiders was probably the most talked about brand, everyone wanted slim shirts, workwear was exploding with WWM and EG. The quest for slim fitting chinos (and later slim fitting sweatpants) was a big deal. High-fashion was Kunk repping Rick, Socal repping Rick/Jil/Damir/Thom Browne and other weird shit and Jet talking about his knits, also BrianSD and a couple of others whose names escape me. Guys like Chronoaug and Magician also cared about those kind of brands, most other ppl were all about new standards and alden indys. Asobu was already posting YY waywts though iirc.. Berlin report and Pinkpantser had cool waywts too.

Ervell/Geller/Opening Ceremony/Obedient Sons and the likes were happening at the same time and eventually generated some interest, some new posters like ARW, kelvinsense etc started to go for more high fashion-stuff, rick, raf, jil... It was still mostly mid tier APC level brands but at some point I guess the multiplication of webstores, the deeper and deeper sales and the launch of GILT made the more expensive high fashion brands more accessible and definitely tipped the balance towards and new kind of consumption and a new kind of sw&d.

This was possibly the worst thing I ever followed. I tried for years and years.

Looking good in slim-fitting chinos requires a more narrow set of conditions and circumstance than the most over-the-top WvB outfit.

You forgot Phat Guido dominating the SWD scene, he was pretty much the Synthese of 2009. Nice Collective and nom de guerre...Wings + Horns ...

enter TWEEN_SPRITE, sowing his seeds of dissonance, bought a rug for a jacket and dissolved into the ether. Reborn some time later, bathed in light, wearing athletic socks and loafers and shirts with embroidered mushrooms.

Friend told me the t-shirt makes me look goofy. I think it might just be my body/bad posture but I'm not sure. Any advice?

Henleys are like scorpion jackets, they look good if you´re Ryan Gosling. If you aren´t, stay clear of them.

Phat guido wasn't a SW&D poster, he just cross-posted here.

I miss pinkpantser posts, he was so good with colors and subtle detail.

My memory of that time is a bunch of people wearing EG bedfords + BoO shirts + APC jawnz + Aldens.

yeah, was just trying jkt on. came in mail today. I think I can make it work with something more tailored, ie pants and sweater. we'll see.

leather is real cool Parker, but the shoes are too much of a stark contrast for me. wear them a lot and when they get beaten up it would look perfect
