Given my two most recent acquisitions, one of the girls is just going to have to "settle" for their mother's beat up AP ref 15451...

One can only guess at Omega's intentions. I guess it was a crapshoot anyway, even had they decided to produce only 1,970. It could have not appealed... And then when every single piece was sold out real quick, well, the press release was out so I'm not sure they could go back and reissue more (which some companies like ST Dupont have done to "limited edition pens," for example).

As it stands, though, delivery has been incredibly slow. No confirmations but the rumor is that it's taken Omega much longer to produce the blue enamel / silver powder / Silver Snoopy case back than they initially thought. Still coming in trickles even to the main boutiques, pissing off tons of collectors, some of whom paid the full boat retail price way back when the piece was announced at Basel.

I'm just glad I literally headed to the Omega boutique at 10am, a few hours after I saw the pics floating around the InterWebz.

Enough about you, Frills - me me me...

I'd been thinking about one of these for years and finally decided to take the plunge:

I tried a couple other brands but they didn't take.

All my tool watches had at least one other function other than time/date, so it took me a while to come around to the idea of a sport watch that didn't do much -

    [IMG][IMG]

other than look pretty and float on the wrist like a feather.

    [IMG][IMG]

Many thanks to my pal @dddrees and a few others for their guidance and insights.

It's a delight to see on the wrist - I must say that I'm quite taken with it.

Thank goodness you didn't swamp us with pictures.
Kidding. It looks awesome. The dial playing off the strap is great.
    Congrats.

Congrats! This is one of those watches, where at first I was very cold on, but the more I saw them in person the more I really started to love it.

Ohhhh snap @jhcam8 - congratulations on your new 5167! How are you liking it so far? So light and feathery on the wrist... make sure it's still strapped on!

    Enjoy that lovely beast!

Thanks, gents. Another benefit is that I'm not banging it up as I often did with my thick tool watches.

I had no idea this watch existed until this series of posts. But now I want one badly...thank goodness it appears to be impossible to get at MSRP so I won't be tempted to redo financial priorities

    Wow that Snoopy is awesome!

The Aquanaut is one of my grails I would love to add some day. Wonder how it would look on leather.

Hahaha it seems I've already made that choice ;)

Probably nice clothes, at least for this time in my life, and I'm blessed to have a few nice watches too. The Aquanaut is something to look forward to down the road (but Reverso comes next).

Probably pretty good - but, the rubber strap complements the dial so well that I probably wouldn't change it - unless the rubber wore out and I was waiting for a new one, perhaps.
