Oh, I'm sure if Rolex produces it, it's because there is some people paying for it! No doubt there!

Speaking of AP, are you after an Offshore model or their classic Royal Oak line?

    Afternoon Gents.

All this Cartier talk makes me want to share a photo I snapped the other morning.

Nice to see some Cartier love in the forum. Here is a photo of my Tank from a while ago. Cheers!

A few guys here like the DeepSea. Its too big for my taste, but if you love it and its a good fit then go for it! I love AP (but just like Patek or VC) its not as rugged as a Rolex sports watch. There are things I wouldn't wear any nice watch for, but a few more rugged activities, I'd be more apt to wear a Rolex over an AP, PP, or VC.

I prefer the original ROs, but if you are looking for a big watch the largest classic RO they make is 41mm so I'm not sure if that would be large enough for your taste. If you are looking for larger sized APs then you probably want to go with the Offshore models. Wishing you luck with whatever you decide.

I'd also throw into consideration a Girard Perregaux 1966 ref 49534. The 1966 cases are beautiful. There are two versions 1) small seconds and date and 2) small second dial at 6 o'clock. Both are superb.

Ah - so you finally let it go! Funny how things go; I actually just picked another one up last week. Love that watch. :embar:

Here's a pic from yesterday. Sorry it looks huge - iPhone perspective from up close isn't the best for wrist shots.

@P. Bateman: interesting line-up! What gets the most wear?

    Thanks @TheTukker.

I do my best to rotate evenly, though when I fail it's usually the 1680 getting the most wrist time. The Speedy is the newest addition and I'm sort of obsessed with her.

The Speedy looks very nice. Is it a genuine Mitsukoshi dial, or did you get a white OEM dial from somewhere like Ofrei and swap the dials?

I purchased one of the last remaining dials from Ofrei. I also opted for a different hand combo as the Mitsukoshi was all stainless which I found bland.

Cheers, @gdl! It was great meeting you. I hope the trip was a productive one and you'll be back.

I'm a law-abiding citizen and a big fan of Dino but I would wrestle him to the ground for that CPCP.

We don't see much GP on here. Some of them are really nice. Do they make their own movements?

I have always been interested in Damascus steel and the new Sinn 1800 S Damaszener fascinates me with its case and integrated dial.

    It is interesting.
I am also fascinated with Damascus.
However, the price seems high, and I wish it didn't have the black hard coating.
