Thank you for the kind words about my posts. I appreciate it and I'm glad you have found them helpful. Cheers! [IMG]

Oh I remember the days before enlightenment....it was much easier to enjoy almost any watch back then. That was also at a time when most people weren't talking about in-house movements vs. outsourced movements because most people thought the company named on the dial must have made what was in the case.

Indeed there was something nice about the blissfully ignorant time when we were all a little less snooty about watches lol.

I'd say that there's rarely been more gullible new money in the game. It's been an uninterrupted boom for watch companies pretty much since 2008. :)

Sorry for recent lack of involvement / contributions lately.

We took about 9 days over Christmas and New Year's to visit the in-laws and did check into the thread via my mobile phone a couple times.

But seriously.... every. single. day .... the oil market is down even further. And that unfortunately makes me busier than the proverbial one-armed wallpaper hanger.

4 REALZ. It's bad out there!

Literally cannot keep up with things....it's brutal.

    Anyways, this also happened:

Which has been nice. She's a rescue dog, a little beagle-mix.

    Cutest thing ever. Amirite?

And to add something watch-related, I'm wearing this horribly inappropriately-sized Radiomir with a suit today (old pic):

While I post on some watch forums I'm more a lurker here but still quite enjoy it. After a whirlwind search and falling in love with several watches from several brands I chose this guy as my celebration of paying off the last of the school loans. FP Journe CS with gold dial!

    Thanks, gents.

And tigerpac, +1 congratulations....glad you decided to post a photo.

    That's a beautiful Journe.

I like how the power reserve and seconds display manage to balance each other without being exact duplicates, if that makes sense.

Movement also looks quite .... fancy.

And every time you look at it, you can remember all that tuition being paid off :satisfied:

Any projections? As the price of oil goes, so goes the Canadian Dollar. As a somewhat recent transplant from the US to Toronto this has been a boon.

I noticed your post on Timezone earlier today - congrats!!! That is a real stunner. I am smitten with Journe as well and may have a piece incoming in the next few months, as long as my attention isn't diverted by SIHH or Baselworld. Well done!

Well. My crystal ball is pretty much busted at this point. But a little birdie tells me that the bottom is probably gonna be around $40 per barrel (WTI / Brent / whatever). Who knows. Take it for what it's worth. Certainly there needs to be some shaking out of smaller players, a decent round of consolidation, etc. But crude getting that low actually puts some countries out of business, let alone corporations.

I totally thought you were referring to me since I just started positing in this thread. I wasn't sure how to respond.
