I like my watches to have a certain weight to them, especially the sportier watches, but any watch needs to have a little heft to it at least. It's nice to feel it there, on the wrist. I like that feeling.

That Milgauss is funky cool. I dig it. A lot. And antimagtetic properties are arguably more valuable than extreme water resistance. Not even pro divers descend to the spectacular depths at which these watches are rated. But I've had a couple watches get magnetized over the years. True, it's an easy fix. But nice to not have to worry about it.

Blue GV is going for around 8k, it seems. Im still a ways off from being able to drop that kind of money on a watch. Even when I am, I wonder if I will like it enough to do so

I do agree the crown looks almost out of place on such a clean watch.

I think crowns in general interrupt the lines of cases. I would appreciate more efforts to integrate them flush into the case.

It seems like Rolex has been using design cues appropriated from the desires of watch bloggers and executing them in an ironic fashion. Making a Milgauss when it's no longer functionally necessary, the "mismatching" end links of the SD4000, or for that matter, the entire Tudor line. I guess you could say its like wearing a trench coat even when you're not actually in a trench.

If the new Milgauss is $8.2K like the old one, I'd fork over another $750 and get a BLNR. Plus according to that Rolex weight guide the GMT is heavier by 2 Poids...

They are so different that I doubt anyone is weighing the price difference as a factor. I would guess the majority of people would prefer one to the other, or if they liked both, would get both.

Mostly all modern Subs and GMT model numbers end with the bezel color. LV, LN, etc...

For two seconds I wondered why you had repeating references to blue and black but in French and English. Then I realized this should be read up/down, not left to right.

Haha. I was trying to say that the BLNR stands for Bleu Noir which in turn is Blue Black. Sorry for the confusion!

I've seen the "Batman" and "Bruiser" nicknames for the BLNR, but I'm not sure either is really sticking.

    I chose this one today:
