Haha, oh man you are pushing him even further into the dark side with that post! After a couple of months of ownership, I'm more pleased than ever with the SS Royal Oak--I love it more and more every day. Dresses up: [IMG] Dresses down: [IMG] And of course you know, finishing is unparalleled! [IMG]

    +1

I've had mine for over a year and a half and I feel the same way. The longer you own it, the more you come to appreciate the workmanship and level of quality that goes into making one.

Gents, just wanted to share my dad's watch that was given to me on my wedding day - we share it as I still like to think of it as his watch (too extravagant for me but I love the watch and the romanticism of travel associated with the piece).

Dino's desk shot is vaguely reminiscent of my office desk, which prompted the photo. Perhaps standard corporate fare.

Talk about a special day! You married the person of your dreams, you purchased a Jumbo RO for the special day, and your Dad gave you a Patek....sounds to me like you won the trifecta !!! Congrats my friend!

And yes standard corporate office furniture....my wife once asked me if I would like a JLC Atmos for my office but I had to tell her it wouldn't go with the decor.

Thanks for the feedback, gentlemen! I agree on all of your points. I'd forego the decimal seconds and tachymeter tracks for increased legibility and better proportions. The triple calendar adds an uncommon, interesting complication, which I can appreciate (and hopefully my eyesight hasn't deteriorated too much to read it [IMG]).

I'll definite keep the hunt going, perhaps more so in the 38-40mm range...

Congratulations CHRK33! Awesome story and thanks for sharing!

Running around right now for work and play but did have time to meet up with a couple of watch enthusiasts for brunch. The FM was on the Zeitwerk wearer's wife's wrist. Very nice, lovely couple.

Where do you watch enthusiasts usually meet? Is it a public place?

And how fast can the fastest among you run? :D
