Welcome mosy, and congratulations on your B & M.

Yes, that is how the majority of chronographs operate, with the central seconds hand recording elapsed time :D

The Omega Speedmaster posted above is a good example, with the chrono "not running" in Dachsund's photo.

No problem ... and we'd love to see a wrist shot of your Classima!

Can anyone help me with this Patek head scratcher?

Friend asks about this franken-watch: only the dial is PP (retailer Howes). 35 mm

The only thing he knows is from 60s. (I wanted to guess 3442, but the 3, 6, 9 o'clock are different).

Regrets; there's no mystery there. Not even that dial is for real.

Thank you. That's basically my thoughts, but then his counter was "Who would fake such an obscure dial, with the retailer and everything?"

Paging all IWC Mark XV owners or cognoscenti: is the bezel polished or brushed? Or, asked differently: can I try to remove a mild scratch with Cape Cod or would this ruin the finish?

Didn't want the Speedy to feel neglected after the recent SDc acquisition, so I bought it a present!

Speedy looks so much better on strap imo.

Thanks! Omega OEM, but I believe these originally came with the 42mm Planet Ocean. Originally was looking for tonal stitching for the Speedy, but this one was the exact color I was looking for and had great scales. Contrast stitching is growing on me quickly!

Is it still called a bezel if it's not a separate part to the watch case? Anyway, looking at mine everything except the ca 1 mm horizontal ring right next to the crystal, is brushed. Here's the best pic I could find on-line to hopefully illustrate it:

I don't know how that polished bit affects scratch removal.

I agree. I've posted this pic before, but this is my favourite Speedy/strap combo:

Though that's not to say that I wouldn't experiment with other combos if I had one.

I realize this was probably discussed here when the show first aired, but I am just now watching Mr. Robot and a Royal Oak gets some nice airtime in Episode 2. It has take me a long while but I've come around to that piece. Will have to check it out on the wrist sometime soon.

^^^ Yes, I noticed the same. As it pans out you'll see it's not quite the product placement they were hoping for...

VAT refund + depreciation of the pound makes it cheaper for tourists
for domestic buyers, their money is worth less overseas, which may make any previous price differentials a moot point.

The article says it's international buyers going to Britain to buy, presumably VAT free.
Seems like a similar thing is happening with shoes too. You can get Crockett & Jones or Tricker's starting around $400 shipped.

Going to London next week for 5 days and planning on doing exactly that. Scouting for JLC's, the new 214270 refresh, and a whole hell of a lot of cigars.
