I hate calf, I hate suede, cordovan is best! And then I tried vass calf and suede both are so comfortable. Buttery soft

Cordovan has to be the most uncomfortable leather for shoes. I can't believe we have for years been buying the hype that cordovan is supreme. I feel responsible for the death of many horses

Thanks RogerP. I wear 8,5/9.uk depending on the last (due to my egyptian wide toe and medium/high instep). In Rain I wear 9 uk instead of 8.5 uk in order to safe my toes during summer time. With Vass I wear 42.5 EU but is too snug for my taste. Next time I will go for a 43 size in a London model.

It's a damn shame that Vass boots look so good. I can't make it out of a coffee shop or even a target store without some guy stopping me and asking for details. Fortunately a company like Allen Edmonds exist so I can just tell them to check out their site

Because everywhere ive looked its either you know $50 or really expensive like $450"

I own 5 AE boots and like them just fine, but that is a just plain cruel way to tee that gent up for epic disappointment...

    Truth.

It does put me in a precarious position when people ask how much my shoes cost.

Most people don't get that its more than expensive shoes, but that I actually enjoy my footwear as a hobby/enthusiast.

I don't lie to people about it. Usually I chuckle and retort that they are expensive.

But then, depending upon the context it allows me to digress into a brief discourse regarding the history, attributes and facts about whichever shoe maker I may be wearing that day.

Which reminds that a nice pair of cordovan Vass boots would make an excellent conversation piece.
