    100% in agreement. I think the U last chisel is balanced by the rounded lines of the wingtip. basically, the chisel isn't as noticeable on an austerity brogue. Although, I do love the Vass DMs on U last over F; the latter ain't bad.

    Just got my Vass today, after 2 months of waiting time.

    Nothing exciting but still looks stunning nonetheless.

    Thanks! They are on F last, size 40.5. Although one pair is bigger than the other. The fun part of ordering Vass shoes [IMG]

    Nice ones, teoky. Wear in good health. I've noticed that Vass sometimes add a piece of leather on the seam below the laces and sometimes don't. Your OEII has it, while your austerity don't. Is it a coin toss, either they do or they don't or is there a feature that determines whether to add this detail or not?

    Not too sure about that. It seems random to me. Maybe it depends on who's the maker.

    Either way, I guess you could convey your preference to Reszo and see what he can do about it.

    It was roughly 200 euro mark up last time I checked but you have to go to the shop to have it done

    How long does the process take? I'll be in Barcelona next semester and I am contemplating having a pair made.

    @DonRaphael

    I've mentioned this before as well. I think it does come down to the technique of the maker (name is on the inside correct?...trying to see if I can determine a pattern). On my last oxford boot, I specifically asked for just the stitch with no leather piece, and it came as requested.

    Sorry if this have been discussed before. Maybe I was the one asking back then also. But in this particular case, the client didn't ask for either style, and he got both. Thus it seems random unless you specify it.

    Guys, I need your thoughts. I was never a fond of a Vass shoes, but all the talking about the great value and a bit of a disappointment on how the EG shoes fit (heel slip) made me eager to try something new.

    Budapest is in my neighborhood. Trip cost is almost free. Plus, I am not a EU citizen, so I could get the Hungarian VAT refund too. My questions basically are:

    1.) Is it worth making transition from Crockett Jones bench grade line like Connaught Oxford to the Vass F last? Are they on the par, as they do cost about the same.

    2.) Can I ask both for the 10% cash discount and VAT deduction?

    3.) Is the Vass F last most roundest and most similar to the Edward Green 202 last?

    4.) Can someone identify the Oxford shoe on F last on far right in my photo?

    Thaaaaaanks! [IMG]

    @Shouldaville Thank You very much.

    I like the idea of the lasted trees and a reasonably priced styles combined with the Ilcea leathers.

    Everything just sounds pretty balanced and well packed + with the cash discount and Vat deduction it should be a no-brainer. I will visit their shop just for the sake of visiting and will purchase a pair or two to see how they perform over the time .. And will post some photos of the shop and purchase.

    Go for it! I have the same problem you have (with the EGs). Vass shoes cups your heels really nicely and so they were a much better fit for me (F last).
