Nice AB, it's funny to me how Vass has at least 3 different styles of them.

Here are a couple pictures of mine in Oxblood, also on the F but a slightly different make-up.

@Webbo very lovely! I like the contrast stitching on the wingtip. Did you spec that?

No I didn't. It was a "Vassism" but a very welcome one. A nice surprise.

    Hey guys,

Does anyone know the current price of Vass cordovan shoe MTO? I asked them but they are having holidays until January.

I'm deciding between going Vass vs a Crockett & Jones cordovan blucher! (which is priced at $770). Choices..choices...

I'm not sure what C&J policy is on shipping sale items, but when I was in the Jermyn Street store earlier they had cordovan bluchers for £390 in the sale - once you take off taxes that's £312 or $385ish....

Damn. At that price, you could buy them, have them resoled any way you like, and still come out ahead.

Anyone who owns both the Alden Trubalance and Vass P2/Budapest last? Would like to seek your sizing advice especially the toebox.

I am wearing US9 in Alden Trubalance and UK9E in the old EG 888 / UK8.5F in the new EG 606.

I think whether the P2 sole is Goyser or GY stitched is part of that equation.

I've heard that Goyser stitching offers more space for the foot and the need to size down at least a half size.

42.5 P2 should work fine. Width will be pretty generous like TruBalance, but the height of the Vass toe box will be lower than Alden.

I dont think this is accurate. There was a fairly significant price increase in 2016 for cordovan, so unless something has changed, I would expect prices for Vass cordovan, especially MTO, to be higher.

I am happy to be corrected however...

I just got a reply from them. The cordovan shoes are € 680 inclusive of shoe trees and shipping. They were running low on some corodvan colours though.

Does anyone have (more pictures of) the austerity brogue shoes in a derby / blucher model? (on F-last ideally, but I'll take anything)

These are the only pics I can find:

Love the look of the austerity oxford but I'm kinda looking for a derby type as I am rarely in very formal settings and I guess the derby in that regard is much more versatile. Just difficult to tell whether they would look better than the more common wingtip brogue.

Just wanted some quick help on sizing the F-last.
    I'm a EU 41.5 = UK 7.5 = US8~. Narrow-medium size.

Should I go for F-last 41 or 41.5? I was opting for the size 41 from an earlier advice I read in this thread somewhere. According to Vass, they're pretty sure it would work out in 41, especially as apparently the cordovan that I'm planning to order runs a bit looser.

I'm not particularly concerned about width issues, but mainly lengthwise (e.g. toes hitting the front?). My feet are ~26.3cm in length.

I'm a size 42 in MMM GATS (as TTS, don't think I could actually fit 41 length). 41 in Common Projects Achilles. 8D in Alden Trubalance.

Shameless plug. [IMG] I am currently selling two pairs of Vass boots and shoes - a balmoral boot and a grain brogue derby. See sig for more info.

    Cheers

Size 41 for F last should be good based on your description.
Cordovan usually wears slightly loose as it is more difficult to last them over calf.
    Good luck.
