Wanted to chime in and say that I have developed a distaste for, or at least a boredom with, cashmere over the years. Ten years ago all of my sweaters were cashmere, mainly Loro Piana, Cucinelli, Avon Celli etc, but now, a few pieces excepted, I don't find them worthwhile. Give me linen, cotton, shetland and lambswool over cashmere, thank you very much.
I don't care much about it either. I don't dislike cashmere, just am abivalent. But then, I don't care much about "luxury" in general. A sweater's a sweater. Once I've put it on over a shirt, I don't think much more about it.
Some of these sweaters look like old man or Mr. Roger's sweaters, appropriate for a convalescent home.
Not yet, though I am attracted to them. Do you? What do you think?
If you like, I can will you that Ballantyne intarsia that you love so much. Let me know and I'll ring up the lawyer.
No, I don't, but I plan on getting a couple sweater vests to wear with solid jackets. I think that some of the patterns are spectacular.
As for the hideous sweater, I am attending a hideous sweater party (don't ask, it is under duress) next week, so call up FedEx, please.
You wouldn't prefer Fred Astaire?
Need my number? If not I know a good trusts and estates lawyer who is familiar with the iGentry.
The Astaire sweater doesn't sound half bad to me. Is it hideous?
This one is awesome, where did you get it? Which season?
