Give me linen, cotton, shetland and lambswool over cashmere, thank you very much.

I don't care much about it either. I don't dislike cashmere, just am abivalent. But then, I don't care much about "luxury" in general. A sweater's a sweater. Once I've put it on over a shirt, I don't think much more about it.

I didn't post any of my cashmere sweaters but there is definitely something good about it and as one poster once said, people (ladies) tend to drape themselves about you when you wear it.

I have a great Irish handknit cardigan with cables I picked up last year and love.

No, I don't, but I plan on getting a couple sweater vests to wear with solid jackets. I think that some of the patterns are spectacular.

My favorite current sweater is a chunky Cowichan knit from Wings+Horns.

If you like, I can will you that Ballantyne intarsia that you love so much. Let me know and I'll ring up the lawyer.

Need my number? If not I know a good trusts and estates lawyer who is familiar with the iGentry.

However, I bet that iammatt would much prefer my Ballantyne Fred Astaire intarsia cashmere sweater. Perhaps he can weigh in -- it would be awesome with his rosy glasses.

I agree. They are spectacular. I picked up one of the Drake's fair isles, the browner one, and would love to have more, but I don't have a lot of solid sportcoats, and am not sure I'll ever get more. Still, be sure and report on them when you do order. As for the hideous sweater, I am attending a hideous sweater party (don't ask, it is under duress) next week, so call up FedEx, please.

The Astaire sweater doesn't sound half bad to me. Is it hideous?

Only in the creative, quirky way that you enjoy.

It's at the reweavers... Either it got too close to a Shun knife or a hungry moth.

Thanks. I believe either this season or last as now they are starting to state "exclusive of decoration". I got it on eBay and dependent on your size there are others to be had. Search "Polo Pheasant".
