I love the depth and variation of shell, not so much the spots

My bet is that what you are seeing is some caked on wax, or perhaps some of that cheap shine in a bottle junk. My guess is you'll be working to strip the shoes down to the original shell, then conditioning and shining.

After 4 rounds of saphir renovateur, brushing and wiping my AE belt has softened and rough patches removed. This was how much polish came off just now after the 4th application of conditioner and wipe down. It's like a murder scene

I haven't seen that much red on an undershirt since I last watched Goodfellas.

Poor man's conditioner is Bickmore Bick4. Amazing stuff, and I believe no petroleum ingredients (iirc).

I've got 4 pair of AE shell burgundy boots/Shoes and I have had this with each and every pair. There is a dullness to the shoes I've gotten put of the box so much like I do with my Aldens, I lightly wipe them with a damp cloth before brushing. I always get product on my rag. Never ever happened with Alden. Same thing happened with my belt. Strange.

Understand that but this is the 4th round. The previous 3 were with a blue rag so the polish wasn't as visible. I can't believe how much they use on a belt!!

I should have mentioned that I typically see product transfer for 3-5 cleanings. Very bizarre.

Burgundy longwings are the quintessential shell cordovan shoes, in my humble opinion.

I agree. I currently only have the Alden JCrew pct and an AE Park Ave in burgundy shell. An Alden lwb is hopefully next.

Bought 2 belts from AE, figure I'll keep the better one. Should be coming in tomorrow. I'll take some pics.
