The magazine's target audience, i was thinking they were saying that was Singapore's average Salary (no way)

That would be the average for 75% of the Singaporeans who hang about in SF. Lurkers and posters.

If I see him in February in London...

I'm still waiting for the e-mail giving me a date...

I'm going to Paris in March with the kids and the missus...

I will have to be creative on that one...

Last 3 issues have not been delivered in a timely manner (able to get them in shops weeks to >1 month before I get them). Quite annoyed.

I ordered last year the first 10 issues. I was a bit disappointed with them, but I keep buying Esquire UK, Monsieur FR, GQ UK (very rarely,) L'Uomo Vogue (twice per year with the Fashion Guide) and occasionally Fantastic Man and Monocle. The new Port magazine is irrelevant concerning style.

I am thinking ordering the issues 11 and 12 from The Rake since they are available to order now. Are they any good?

Reading the first page and this article, the average annual income is 350k Singapore dollars (nearly 275k USD).

    Damn, I'm a small-timer.

I'm sure there's a fair bit of responder bias on income reporting.

Concensus seems to be The Rake is generally expensive and slightly haughty/pretentious without due cause, yes? Was thinking of getting a subscription, but not at that price if it isn't exceptional.

I posted on my blog a few days ago about the Rake. I think its one of the best men's style mags out there - eons ahead of anything published in the US. Read The Rake and then go through Esquire's Big Black Book and I think you'll find they're not even close.

For me personally, I think its down to The Rake and Men's Ex. If Men's Ex were in English, I'd say it was clearly the best. As it is, its pretty phenomenal just ogling the pics. I give the Rake a slight edge because I can enjoy the pics and the articles.

I read one issue (Kiton cover story) and was pretty underwhelmed. Some bits of useful information drowning in a sea of pretentiousness and overwrought text.

I enjoyed the Rake. Never subscribed, just picked up the old issues on B&S. Nobody has been selling any lately - if you are, I need the last 2 or 3 issues. PM me if you have.

If people can't afford to buy the magazine, don't bother looking at it. Cos what's inside is a lot more money.
