In addition to the Police box set, here are my finds for this week. Being new to this, I'm not sure of the authenticity of the Bruberrys and Bosses. Comments would be greatly appreciated.

Burberry London gingham shirt - $5.50
Seems fairly recent and unworn. My first gingham. Alteration: waist taken in.

1000

Burberry London made in USA shirt is legit - I find and flip it occasionally, and no one is faking Burberry made in USA stuff (that I have ever seen) since it's not that spendy to begin with. Prorsum, Brit, and haymarket / nova check stuff, all the time. Most nova check fakes are easy to spot since Burberry is very fastidious about making sure the patterns line up and everything is square and true in the angles (a good way to check that dress). Nice shirt, BTW - they make some nice gingham's - my 2nd fave only to Barbour.

You passed on Kiton???:butbut: You reside and thrift in the Cleveland area?
Shoot, I was dreaming our house was invaded by this raccoon/ferret alien thingy stealing our cat food through the vents. I dreamt that I ran into it, jumped on the bed, trying to make myself as big as possible, and trying to scream...But all I did was moan in my sleep. The wifey had to wake me up cuz I was having a bad dream. :) I've yet to pick up an Eton. Well, it is Burberry London. The entire line looks questionable to me. :D
Orvis and Thomas Pink are among the easiest to flip, depending on the color and pattern. The one I skip on most is Eton... I've yet to find anything worth my time or worth wearing.
Eton is gold for me. I often find very recent ones and they fit me well in my size (perfect for slim tall fit) and if I don't want to keep them, they sell quick and for at least $30, I've had them go for more than $60 too. It may be sacrilege to say this on SF, but I prefer Eton to most of the Italian brands; sure the quality isn't as high and they aren't hand sewn by an old Italian grandmother, but the fit on me makes them look for better.
Yes, that's correct. Buying for myself, so my first criteria is fit. However, I've been severely tempted to pick up stuff to flip or at least to trade. I've passed over Canali mainline and BBGF suits, Robert Talbott BOC ties, and Kiton (in Cleveland!).

I know I'm going to break down soon and buy for trade eventually.
I don't know if this is some sort of veiled brag, but it's one of the oddest comments I've read on here. "I might break down one day and buy Kiton".... Leaving that is leaving money.

I think Eton makes a fantastic shirt too. Actually credited as producing 1/1 most expensive shirt in the world.
Look it up.

So I posted this in the tailors thread as well but I thought I'd post here as well. I recently purchased this jacket off of a fellow forum member, for a fair price, and it's a Su Misura jacket from Zegna. While the measurements looked like they'd be nearly spot on, they don't always convey the whole story. As you can see, my shoulders are relatively even but this gentleman's were not. He has more padding in the left shoulder than the right, causing the jacket to be pronounced on mine. Also the angle of his arms was more forward than mine, creating unpleasant ripples. While it's easily the nicest blazer I own, and is desperately needed in my closet, I'm torn. It's close enough that most people wouldn't notice but I do...

First off, its not very present to an untrained eye. it does not look THAT bad to me. The ripples are there, but minimal compared to what ive seen. This is The fit to expect with other people's MTO /Bespoke items.

I know I haven't stated much difference than what you've already said, but unfortunately if it will bother you to the point where it will get minimal use, you may have to get rid if it. Or see what options, if any, a tailor has.

taking padding out is crazy easy you can take it to your tailor or even do it yourself

Lucchese, sometimes Justin, and always croc. :)
Don't forget J.B. Hill and Tony Llama.
I cried when I got out of bed this morning. I had the most vivid dream that I found a Cashmere Kiton Suit at TJ Maxx for $215. I swore it was really happening. I had already bragged about it here and everything. :(
Yeah, that's happened to me too. Sometimes I even look in the closet to see if the stuff is there because it was so real. Could have sworn it had happened the day before.
6 Disc set, rang up for 49 cents!
Whoa! Awesome pick-up! :slayer:
What brands do you (usually) pass on? Me: Brooks Brothers Hickey Freeman Burberry Charles Tyrwhitt Zanella You: ?
All the ones on your list plus: - Polo RL (Can't even buy the stuff for myself to wear anymore because all the thrifts mark it way up) - Robert Talbott (except 7-Fold & Estate) - Viyella - Tons of Harris Tweed stuff (unless for a high-end maker). I must pass on at least 4-5 sport coats per store. - Orvis (tried flipping a pair of trousers w/ leather trim and some shirts, barely made my money back) - Pleated Bills Khakis. Even flat front I have a hard time breaking the $30 mark. - Hugo Boss (except recent suits) - Old BBGF stuff.
I've passed over Canali mainline and BBGF suits, Robert Talbott BOC ties, and Kiton (in Cleveland!).
Wait, what?? Please tell me the thing was trashed to the point that it was unwearable or marked close to discount price at a luxury dept. store.... If not :fu:

Everything looks real, except the dress (fake label and non-existent pattern-matching). I believe Burberry made in USA shirts are made by Gitman.

Also, a note: if you want a tie verified, post a picture of the backing (in addition to the pictures with the labels/tags/keepers). Labels can all be real, but they can be sewn on from another tie. Sewing on a fake backing is much more difficult. I've come across ties where someone apparently took a real tag off another tie to put it on a different tie.

Are you sure the buttons are MOP? The one in the picture looks plastic to me, but pictures can be deceiving there.

Just a few little things. All available, PM if interested.

Cervantes tie, unfamiliar with the maker but it seems to be a nicely-made 5-fold.

Dunhill repp w/fleur de lis

XXL Gant Rugger "The Hunter" shirt.

Lots of cool details... shoulder pad for the butt of your gun, single pocket, wool stamp on the bottom of the left side... looks NWOT but apparently someone spilled something and donated it rather than run it through the wash. One small stain on the front visible in second spoiler'd pic, and some small blotches on the collar. I'm fairly certain they'll come out in the wash.

St. Michael wool tie

Any size small indie-rockers in the room? Get at me.

Large mustard Viyella BD, 80/20 cotton/wool.

Found these. 2 pieces of a killer 3 piece PRL Corneliani tweed. :brick: Here is my dilemma: nwt, so I could probably do very well. But the styling is great and, despite being tagged 40L, it fits me. :decisions: So yeah, likely I plan to keep and rock the ever loving hell out of each of these, come fall. Oh yeah, working cuffs too. Also found this vintage PRL USA piece:

I've done it on a number of jackets, just open up the lining at the shoulder, a few snips, pull it out and sew it back up. Also, Wes, those 2 piece's of a 3 piece is ******* awesome!!!! :slayer:
