I don't know the etiquette on this but what were the prices on your discount store pieces? Curious to see how they compare to my Marshalls and such

    Some more stuff from Friday

I know you all hate JAB, but some of this stuff is pretty decent. Besides, if I can profit off those bastards it makes me feel better about that huge AE shoe "Sale" snafu that happened with them last year.

And you know there is always going to be at least 1 odd piece in my haul, I strive to find them. Lucked out and found a few this week.

Wool Smoking jacket, The stripes are actually the back side of the fabric

WTF is this? Sport coat with zip out quilted piece. The part you see in the second pic, it the entire zip out piece, not a full lining.

Some dude, converted some DB jackets to SB Blazers, I think it works out nice, you never see the odd button hole when it's buttoned anyway.

CHECK OUT THE DATE, How weird....43 years old today. Happy Birthday Weird Jacket! Funny the guy forgot which decade it was. Stoner tailors, I tell ya.

    Odd converted button.

Second one, Obviously was an orphan at one time, but the heavy stripe and the conversion to single breasted kinda works for it.

Also "thrifted" this from my pops. Made by my grandfather in elementary school shop class. I have a child in elementary school and he is not coming home with anything like this.

I think the platinum's are better suits than 99.999% of people will ever dream of owning. Spending my own $$, I think there are better options for the same quality at less money, or higher quality for the same money, but I'd be happy to buy and wear them at the right price.

When those go on the 3 for 1 sale, you get a full canvassed, super 150's, made in italy, were by zegna (don't know if they still are), for under $750 each. I think thats a good deal.

I feel the same way about the canvassed selections from Tom James. Many on SF don't like Tom James, but some i really like the upper options in all three of their lines.

That said, no idea how it flips.

Pretty sure they're half-canvassed though. But yes, the one I had felt pretty awesome and had very little shoulder padding which I rarely seem to find.

Huh I thought I read somewhere on here (styleforum not thrift thread) when searching for it it was half-canvassed. It felt full canvassed to me but the post made me think otherwise. The more you know.

    Nope. Full.

Edit. Just checked the web site. I was shocked to see they were having a sale.

    Here's their blurb:

"Year-round 150s quality wool fabric has fluid drape and rich hand. Two-button side-vent jacket for classic styling. Tailored shoulders and pick-stitched detailing. Premier jacquard lining. Full canvas construction for an elegant fit. Scalloped facing for a clean finish. Double reverse-pleated trousers have premium cotton pockets and are half-lined to the knee. Unfinished bottoms for altering ease. Dry clean. Handmade in Italy."

$733 each right now. But Wes will sell you his for half that.

2 of my weekly wear suits are self thrifted JABs and that's not counting the 3-4 JAB SCs I wear on a regular basis. Granted, I don't have any fancy Brioni, Isaia, or Zegna in my wardrobe (yet), the JAB do the trick for me, for now. Wes, if any of the JAB 2 piece suits you come across are 44L PM me, odds are I'll take them off your hands right away.

I'm slowly replacing the random thrifted orphans paired with random thrifted slacks that stock my current closet. Hey, we all had to start somewhere before we came across SF! [IMG]
