Welcome aboard. Man, we've got quite a few Minnesotans on here now. My wife had a dental convention at the Mayo Clinic a few years ago and I decided to join her and we made a weekend of it. I too was kind of surprised to not find much higher-end men's clothing considering all the well-paid medical professionals in the area. I did find some cool vintage stuff though which was nice.

    It's tagged a 46 Euro/36 US, but measures like a 42.

    Thanks bud!

I'm so confused. You're making my head hurt. What is this measuring madness!
    What are the measurements?
    Most doctors dress quite poorly.

I work at one of the best hospitals in the country and am pretty shocked, to be honest. It's like... they have more important things to do with their time and looking presentable is good enough. Honestly, many of the doctors I've worked with wear a tie and their white coat. Some of them leave a couple of ties at work for when they have to see patients and that's it. And these are guys that publish in the New England Journal....

The surgeons I work with....well that's a different story. For the most part, they tend to dress up a lot more than the medicine folks. Like an order or two of magnitude better. I'm pretty sure they make a lot more money too though, but also they spend equal time in scrubs so I guess they have to even it out with suits. That's how I feel anyway. After wearing the equivalent of pajama's in the OR for a few hrs, I feel like changing into something awesome!

And then I found these guys thrifting.

Hardy Amies tie, harrods hand printed english tie, linen pocket square, and a crazy pocket square in the background which should have really high utility thanks to the colors!

The best part about it is that it is my size. The sleeves are unfinished and the buttons are in the pocket. The original retail tag is also in the pocket. There is basting thread through the shoulders. I am so torn between keeping this and making some extra money. I do like it and I really want to keep it. Please tell me, what would you do?

I really like that sportcoat. It's not the ideal "building a wardrobe" pickup (I wouldn't see it as a staple piece), but I personally wouldn't part with that if it fit properly.

That's a really cool coat. I love the color, and it looks soooooo cozy.

Remember when you measure it, it's an overcoat. The measurements will be generous to accomidate wearing a shirt/tie/jacket underneath.
