The problem is not your disagreement but rather the smug air of superiority you're projecting based on your assumption that what you like is somehow better because it's less marketed, less widely known, made by some old Italian in his backyard and then sent to the store on the back of a donkey, etc. They're just clothes, and in the case of this thread they're mostly clothes we've rescued from being crammed up against some dude's smokey, piss-stained old suit on an overstuffed rack in a dumpy thrift store. So let's not bother with the bullshit.

I've been meaning to ask a few times... but would anybody really ever fake brands like Alden, Oxxford, Belvest, etc? People ask for legit checks sometimes, and I always have to wonder if any of those brands actually have enough name recognition for to be worth a counterfeiter's while.

But presumably those old rich dudes have young rich kids, no?

And lastly... a little fit for you all, to bell curve down the amount of suit/sport coat fits here lately (note: I have no idea what a bell curve is).

Can't wait til the snow comes. The thrifting lightweights are too afraid to leave their warm homes, leaving the spoils to the serious.

if you can believe that I had an unattainable item that eluded me for at least 7 years and 100,000 pieces of merchandise pass through my hands, Weso hooked it up big time and bucket list checked. Pics soon.

+1. The Apolis, EG, Tom Ford, etc stuff was all owned by one of the sons of a (late) very wealthy local. He actually used to own the Minnesota Twins. I actually got to pillage through his donations when he passed away several years ago. Got some crazy nice stuff that day as did another MN SFer.

+1. Unless they were literally shredded to pieces or priced way too high, never leave A&S or Huntsman behind.
