    That Barbour is sweet!

+1 - BTW, Hans, that was me talking about the Isaia. Seeing pics only enraged me further. I know I'm not going to be nearly as lucky next time I hit those stores!

Omg the finds in this thread lately are hard to top. It's redic!

Shoeluv, generous offer and very noble thing of you to do. You do it not looking for a buck, rather an enjoyment shared by someone else. True gentleman.

If anyone is interested in a proxy on a Brioni or Charvet tie, get at me. Clearance rack finds, not thrift prices.

Last time I felt comfortable enough in my finds someone soon after shattered that by posting J Lobbs. Then I dropped out of lurking and activity.

I was getting to that point again and you post a 5k camera bag find.

    son of a bitch.

i'll be back in a year.

Had minor surgery this morning, unexpectedly. Wasn't planning on thrifting, well maybe subconsciously, but I stopped at one store on the way out of town. Was in search of the last few items on the Scavenger Hunt list and I spied this.

Hoped it was teak, but Frenchy has confirmed that it is not.

Better pics once my help arrives to bring it in the house.

1930's Walnut and Poplar dresser with insane ornate inlay work.

Also in the living room is my Great Grandfathers dry sink from the early 20's, my Great Grandmothers Lane hope chest from her 16th birthday in 1926 and my Great Great Great Grandfathers shoe shine box from 1914. Though this dresser is a little more "modern" than those, it fits in quite nicely. It will become our new board game storage.

Thanks man! I really don't flip much at all, most everything I find and pick up is for personal use. Barring of course something really nice. That's what made this weekend so great, basicly everything was for me and fit, really couldn't have asked for anything better! The filson pants were the exception, I just couldn't leave those behind haha

Oi, I've been thrifting for awhile and have some stuff I'd like to put up on the bay. I bought a mannikin to display SCs/suits, but I don't have a white shirt or a red bowtie (that capnwes, he's got some ideas). Does anyone have an extra BB/CT/equivalent oxford shirt lying around? Even better, a generic low tier bowtie? I'll eventually find both in the field, but anyone has either lying around I'd be happy to get you back with @ thrift prices/shipping. I know I'm new, and I've been around forums quite a bit, so if this too presumptuous then let me know.

Also, can I stain generic wood to make it look old... and nicer? By sanding off whatever coat it has and reapplying a darker stain? I want to get a stool/small table to photo ties/shoes on, and wanted to spruce up the generic wood color.

    ---
yeah, instead of double posting I'm just going to apphend:

What happened to DM7 (I think that was it)?

The hell does kop actually stand for? I get the general idea, but can't figure the acronym.

I saw some Bally shoes yesterday. They were nice, but shiny as hell and since I didn't know the brand until after I left/research I didn't grab 'em. Why would they have that uber sheen? They were slip/on black tie looking if that helps.

I never post on this thread because the finds posted make my Haggar and Mossimo pale in comparison...but today...at Goodwill in Houston found the missing pants that went with a Zegna black suit jacket on the suit rack in my size...in the pants rack and it fits perfectly. My first Zegna suit and from the thrift store no less.
Also never found any shoes worth mentioning but today found Cole Haan Benchmade in England monkstraps. If I wasn't reading threads on Styleforum I wouldn't even know a monkstrap from anything else. These shoes are too large for me to wear but are a nifty find.
Also found a Burberry jacket orphan and it fits but...it not a sports jacket so guess it will go on auction later.
