It's a nice watch, but unless you have a picture of the captain of the Titanic holding that watch as the ship sinks, it won't be worth more than a few hundred.

    +1

I've taken a break from thrifting as late summer seems to be the thrifting doldrums (at least around here). But I was pleased to see the return of long sleeve shirts and coats to my local Savers this week. I was less pleased to see significant price increases on the items. Battered BB ties for $9.99. Ho-hum Cole Haan shoes for $29.99. I don't know if this is a mandate from corporate or somebody local, but I am not happy about it. :violin:

The Savers by me mostly has terrible pricing. I rarely ever go there because of it. $35 for ripped RG shirt, anything PRL is always over $10 regardless of condition, $35.00 for unwearable/unfixable Allen Edmonds.

Haha, The P.Z pants are regular black wool pants, not shiny. though the jacket lights up like a bike reflector on camera, it is nicer in person. smooth black, with a grey shine. made the choice to go dark grey pants so they actually contrast well with the jacket color. almost went with black loro piana's. -too 50/50. as i am going to get really drunk, going the easy clean charcoals.
yeah, yeah,i know..[IMG] not worth the cost to raise them 1/4 of an inch. plus i hate the Thom Browne look. lol.
surprised nobody picked on the jacket fit. great in the shoulders and arms, waaaay too big around the waist. but the local tailor's won't go near it as they can't iron it. [IMG]
got me some nice black leather gloves, need a black umbrella. i'll prolly get a black Burberry check one.

so, not being defensive. those here who know me, know that i like to push the limits. and have plenty to work with. in the end i always want to look comfortable. - no skinny anything. no too short pants, and no rigid "uniform". hmmmm, might wear an odd vest with it.................[IMG]

push the limits gentlemen. so many fits look like they were posted by the same person. you know what i mean...... [IMG]

Sweatpants are ruining it for me. Feel like some slubby jeans would work better there. Also, where'd you get the margellons on discount?

Put 'available' beside the pic of the find, and you can also put a disclaimer in your post that you're only looking for trades (and what you're looking for if there's anything specific) if that's the case. There's also a thrift buy/sell/trade thread, although I'm not sure how many people use it these days (haven't personally in a while).

How can you tell the age of a BB product? From what I have seen in the ties and suits I own from them, they haven't made many changes to their logo or anything in a long while. The most noted thing I have is a change of garment production (Greenfield to Southwick) or a change from Makers to Makers and Merchants in ties. Then again, all of my clothes are recent as I only buy discount.
