Oh, a meetup, you say? I'm heading over in a week and was planning to have a look around in DC and NY. If there's some sort of meetup, I might be interested. And no, I'm not asking for your secret spots. ;)

Unless you want to start looking through the thrift store china yourself, probably ought to hold onto the wife. [IMG]

I think she was bored listening to us chat about curtained waistbands on pants and the flippability of Brooks Brothers and just wandered off.

I actually bought crutches last week....the kind that clasps around your forearm rather than rests under your armpit. I've been looking for a set like them for a couple years. I don't need them, but when I have my next foot surgery I will be set.

My winner of the day, is this badass unlined leather jacket from BLUR again made in Italy. Priced in with the shirts, probably becuase of it's odd construction. Tagged medium, but must be a slim fit med because it just doesn't fit me, I so wish it did. The leather is soooooo soft and the weathering on it is cool.

Pretty close. This is the smaller 24" size. and its keyed and footed, not combination and wheeled. But the look is the same. I had no clue they cost so much!

Hey txwoodworker how is Austin as a place to live? Live in Denton currently and its commonly referred to as a little Austin. Visited once during SXSW and had a blast on 6th street but otherwise itvwas too crowded to enjoy properly. Looking for a new area to move to next year. The girl likes Austin but I'm partial to Houston.

Isnt it? I paid through the nostril - not the whole nose - for it. I love it so much. Its that perfect Slim Aarons'y, California socialite, jet-set 60's, Twiggy kind of thing. I almost dont want to sell it, but keep telling myself that there are no plans to open a museum anytime soon.

Great to finally meet up. Spoo's a super nice guy and cute kid; glad I passed. I think your wife did better then both of us....China & those shoes [IMG] Makes me reconsider getting one (a wife) just to bring to the thrift store.

Find of the day for me was a recent pair of Isaia pants.[IMG]

I should have prefaced that with "In my experience..." My last full year in Oregon, property taxes were $4,000/yr for my small house on a postage-stamp lot. Here, $750/yr for a house 4x the size and nearly an acre. Of course, I'm here in the OTP boonies of Acworth. The house itself was inexpensive compared to other areas I have lived, but I bought here at pretty much the low point 1.5 years ago. It's all relative I suppose.
