Two quick stops today yielded this: [IMG] Top row, shoes, L to R: Lloyd & Haig custom v-cleat longwings - rough condition. Not a household name, but easily equal in quality to the brands we salivate over today. Someone who needs some basic, foundational dress shoes they're willing to get resoled, get at me. 10.5D Faconnable made in Italy chocolate suede PTBs with vibram commando sole. Good condition. 11.5D Tods mustard or chestnut suede PTBs, squared toe, great condition, 9.5D but I think that's EU sizing, because they fit more like a 10-10.5 Santoni cap toe, some damage at toe I'ma see if my cobbler can fix, 11.5D and not available. NWOB TBNY 2-tone suede and leather blutchers, 10.5D Ben Sherman kilted tassel slip ons.
Front row, L to R: AE size 10.5 cedar trees Vtg PRL Made in India flannel, great colors, and RRL-like details: Leather trimmed breast pocket, kid suede elbow patches, throat latch Harvie & Hudson Keaton style french cuff (but the cuffs are shreaded, which I missed in the store, and may just button harvest) Zegna big & tall (65" long) midnight blue ties, including 1x Su Misura 2x Scottish wool sweaters by Dean's. Seafoam green and beige -- both colors I've been looking for, and my size so N/A. Beige will need some reknitting. Middle row: I have a strict rule against picking up orphans, particularly pinstriped, unvented, 6 over 1 orphans.

Visited a few spots in a part of town I don't usually see. I got a couple of things for myself: fitted BR shirt w-Italian fabric, and PRL flannel trousers, also Italian fabric.

Got very excited when I saw these "Edward Green" shoes, then less excited when I saw "Made in USA". Anyone know who makes these? They'll be available once I clean them up.

I tried to convince this kid to buy this PRL blazer, because he said he needed a blue jacket for a wedding rehearsal (storing up my karma ...), but he didn't want to mess with replacing the buttons. Turns out it fits me pretty well, so I'll probably keep it. Just need to decide if I should find original buttons, or something new. Thoughts?

Congrats, Nat. I remember SoCal, and thought about his fits when I first saw your haul.

After seeing Nat's haul, I couldn't sleep well and woke up without the aid of an alarm clock this morning at like 8 AM and couldn't fall back asleep. Just had that urge to go out. Paid off pretty well.

I passed on some Florsheim Imperials this last week and was wondering if it was a mistake? they looked to be in good shape but wasn't sure which Florsheims were worth the pick up. Did I make a bad call?

    Well put!

I mean absolutely no offense by saying this, but a lot of your posts are asking whether you should pick something up or whether something is worthwhile. I think it would be worth the time to go through some of the thread to get a better idea of things you should keep or pass. It's often hard to answer the question of "Should I get this?" as a lot of variables will go into it. If it's for yourself, you like it, the price is right, and it fits, then the answer is yes.

Unfortunately, getting good at this game takes gaining the experience and making mistakes. It helps to know what makes something "good" vs something not worth your time or money. Shoe construction and leather quality, shirting, fabrics and construction methods, styles and cuts, and time periods (among an infinite number of other factors) are all relevant when making a decision. If you don't know the difference between a lot of these, it's just a label hunt. You'll find that some of the most respected members and the most desired finds are those that exhibit the traits of all of these things.

Found a bunch of bottles and minis of French perfume today, including a couple of Guerlains, some Dior, Van Cleef, Fragonard and others. Much of it discontinued, so should be able to flip most of them.

Why the hell can't I find any men's perfume at these places?

Haha, I'm guessing because men tends to stick to what they are using until it's gone. While women on the other hand, goes through flavor of the week like it ain't no thang but a chicken wing. Some just buy it just to have it.

Oh yeah, pics or it didn't happen.

Crappy photo, but here they are.

    Untitled by gjkyoung, on Flickr

The back row is (L-R) Harajuku Love (full), Nina Ricci Nina EDT (25%), vintage Guerlain Chamade EDT (90%), vintage Tabu Cologne (90%), discontinued Fragonard Rendez-vous EDP (full), Chaparelle (?) Liberte EDP (10%), Harajuku Music (full). Front row L-R: Romeo di Romeo Gigli EDP (full), Miss Dior (90%), Guerlain Jardins de Bagatelle EDT (80%), Van Cleef and Arpels First EDT (80%).

I shouldn't whine too much. I found a full vial of discontinued Rochas Macassar a while ago which the local fragheads tell me is both gorgeous and extremely rare.

I'll never beat the near-full bottle of Dior Jules I found for $5. A local perfumier I showed it to could not believe his eyes.

I'd keep the buttons. Wore a BB six-button DB nearly identical to that to a wedding yesterday with cream trousers. I like the Thurston Howell look.
