Nice outfit! (Now make your bed and close that bottom drawer, dammit... You are wreaking havoc on my ocd.)

    Because I'm obsessed with boats:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/56-NAUTICAL...t6vgJaK5tXBrXyR8u%2FI%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

That coffee table book on top alone retails for $150. http://www.jclass.com/concordiayawls.asp Probably could sell 3-5 of these and recoup costs, but they'll most certainly be going into my collection.

Also my first live auction--interesting concept. Run through a 3rd party that I also found on another site, but I personally bid through ebay. They couldn't sell the scrimshaw and other whale products on ebay though.

And this--not the prettiest hull, but at 3' long it'll look just fine on the wall and the price was right, at $50:

The auction generally was the coolest estate sale I've seen in my life. Nautical items, art, antique furniture, rugs... Is it weird that I view my life through the lense of how awesome my estate sale could be? Some highlights which were rather beyond my modest budget:

45" Long J-Class Hull (Foreshortening / distortion from camera. Much sleeker in reality) - $150
    [IMG]

    $200:

$800 (I had bids in to $250... talk about falling short...)

If these are decent quality (ie. not souvenir shop) they're a steal at $150--dunno how I missed out on them:

$325 - I bid to about $150 on that one
    [IMG]

    $650
    [IMG]

    $600 (My $150 didn't come close):

    $150
    [IMG]

    $325:

    Bronze Lighthouse Lamp - $100:

So if anyone ever finds legit nautical art or stuff like the above, get in touch with me!

Another find from Linda. I probably paid too much but I want to say someone on here got one of these a while back and it did really well, or was just a fucking awesome shirt.

Sport coat or orphan? I'm not good with Zegna. It's pretty old though.

Whoa, look at THAT. I love early Ralph. That thing doesn't have a belted back, does it?

I don't know... but it has that strange right sleeve is 1/2 inch shorter than the left sleeve vibe.

Thought they were coffee stains until I realized they were actually part of the weave . . .

One of the challenges stemming from my recent attention to this thread is all the items piling up back at the ranch that would previously have been left in the store. As someone who for the past decade has stuck to CM, it's a whole new world out there, but also, I expect, a likely re-run of my early days in CM with the risk of significant flubbing, and finds that will be cringeworthy in retrospect. Accordingly, a few random picks for your evaluation.

The Polo stuff I find the most perplexing. Never paid any attention to it until reading here. I'll appreciate a link to any definitive "what's worth picking up and what's not" section, but meanwhile . . .

Sportswear is also new to me, so this one? Looks like Reebok had a Piet Mondrian Paris-period moment . . . Can't find it anywhere online, thus far.

Pierre Balmain DB velour. This looks like a youthful diffusion line (the piece is a Euro 44!!).

Anyone identify these Oakleys? No marking whatsoever, anywhere, except a "Made In USA" on one leg, and a CE on the other.

Yep, you gotta wonder how these egregious travesties ever make it past the design committee. I mean, really?

Wouldn't the fact that it has a listed "drop" indicate suit?

You'd think, but I'm pretty sure someone debunked that a while ago on the thread
