    So.

Great day with the Spooner. Fun to watch him pace like a caged animal in the run up to an estate sale. Made me think of my days as an athlete, and those moments before a race: the tension, the anticipation, and then the release of all the training and pent up adrenaline.
What's amazing is I was right there next to him, seeing the same stuff he was, but not really. I mean, I've been doing this a while and like to think I'm OK at it, but I was really genuinely not seeing what he was seeing. First off, the wimminz stuff is a different game, and the vintage Ralph stuff is a different game, but the estate sale stuff is a different ball of wax entirely. Thrifting alongside your competition comes close, but this is really almost a sport. As you can see, I ended up with some leathers and suedes, but nothing like what he ended up with, and my per-item was nowhere near what his was. I also literally overlooked the exotic shoes, and that was AFTER we decided on a gameplan where exotics was specifically on my watch list. Net: 6 leather, suede or goat skin jackets, including one duster, and suede pants.

After that, we hit some stores and Spoo was characteristically gracious, not just letting me keep the spoils but being extremely patient putting up with my periodic distractions with my day job. He's a good man, that Charlie Brown. Highlight is the Oliver Peoples, the Sulka, and the Gucci square.

We hit the shop and boys, every time it gets better. I can't wait for it to open. I said it last time: If you're in the area, you need to make a pilgrimage. Well, well worth the trip. It's an operation and a half, and it's PACKED with amazing stuff.

Then, on the way home, THIS happened:

Highlights are the Turnbull ties, the Fallan, the Dunhill bespoke (which has an issue), the Aptons bespoke (that lining!), the off-Row shirts, the Hawes sweater which fits like a glove, and the Rubi!

I've searched all over but can't see to find a concrete answer: how can one tell if a YSL double-breasted suit was designed during the Tom Ford era? He was the overall brand director, correct? So it isn't just the Rive gauche line? I just picked up what I feel is the coolest db I've thrifted, and will post up some pics when I can. It is from the pour homme line, according to tag. Dealing with a family member's wedding today.

I suck at this part of the equation, guys. I have my guesses. But that is exactly what they are. Who, pray tell, made these shoes?

3 of the sickest jackets I've found to date. All 3/2 roll, double vented, and cashmere blends. All Canali.

100% LP cashmere Canali, unfortunately unvented.

I know Jack Victor isn't the best for resale, but 100% Linen, half lined, flat front pants = a perfect summer suit

Staple Navy BB Fitzgerald, looks like it's hardly been worn

    Canali suit, unfortunately double pleated.

^^ Zegna for Versace is correct, but its probably a 25-30 dollar sale at best.

I must admit to being hesitant to click on the spoiler. Part of me was afraid that you were about to pull a Spoo and show your Wang.

I was pretty pleased to trade a pair of old Naked & Famous and a pair of old LL Bean shoes for these. Came out with cash in my pocket, too...

Minty pair of Oliver Peoples OV5031s for NDG. Made in Japan. N/A; personal use.

I've been pretty busy lately with a new job and studying a lot, so this is the only find I've had so far this month. Paul Stuart by Isaia seer sucker suit - triple patch pocket, quarter lined, dual vent, MoP buttons, pretty badass. Available.
