My contact there said to bring it by "and we'll assess and go from there." So .... I guess that means after they tell me there's no hope, they'll let me buy another one at full price?

ive had 2 contrasting experiences at dry cleaners...one place screwed a piece up, and wrote me a check for $250 to replace the shirt... nearly no questions asked....good folks. Another lost my favorite helmut lang shirt and refused to give me a dime. Owner said "you look too poor to pay that much for a shirt...get the fuck out of my store"

As long as its a decent place, i think theyll replace for you. My shitty experience came from using the $1.50 cleaners. :embar:

Dry cleaning must be a stressful job... They are always having to deal with pressing issues.

Quick question, about Cordovan shell shoes. (sorry, don't have a picture).

I had finally came across a pair of full cordovan shell shoes in the wild - I've passed so far. They look alright. Definitely need a good polish though. I just wasn't sure if they are a find or not. I'm not familiar with the "brand".

They look to be older, ET Wright shoes. I guess they could be flipped for a few bucks, according to that other site, but given what the store is asking, it's not worth flipping - if they were picked up, it would just be for personal use (my size).

Is ET Wright a pass then? I figured they were.

To clarify: The guy I know at Sid Mashburn. I'm not hopeful anything will come from it, but I'm on my way there post-work immediately after I raise hell at the drycleaner.

Hmm...okay. Good to know. They've been there awhile, so next time I'm there, if they are still there, I'll probably grab them then.

i mean assuming theyre priced at thrift pricing. I wouldnt pay $100. But if theyre priced right, theyre a VERY easy flip.

I cringe a little everytime I leave my drycleaner for what I pay them, but I also know its worth the couple extra dollars compared to the "cheap" cleaners in town. I trust they know what they are doing, and if they mess up, they'll make it right.
I leave for England on the 19th, hoping the rate stays down for a while.

PS - If anyone knows spots I need to hit in either London or Paris please let me know!

PPS - Will be doing some other traveling soon and want to pick up some nice noise canceling headphones. Anyone have recommendations? Borrowed some B&O H6's (not noise canceling) for a bit last year and fell in love, but the price is a bit steep. Wouldn't be opposed to buying pre-owned if the deal was good.
